Just how many people are registered for the 9/12 protest in DC?
One of the questions that seem to come up the most from activists interested in coming out to Washington for the 09.12.09 March on Washington is: “how many people are coming?”
While I quickly give them whatever the latest number is, I don’t think my text and written updates do just justice to the number of people who have already registered for this event.
To make it easier for everyone to visualize, I’ve plotted the latest numbers (just shy of 3,000) in Google Earth and have taken a screenshot for everyone to see.
It is my goal to periodically update this map with the latest numbers, and I hope that by the time September comes around, we’ll have it filled completely.

I have been telling folks about this March and I am happy to say my husband John and I will be attending. South Carolinians, come on and get out there! We can do this! Show the “elected” that we are the ones who put them in office and if they do not listen, they will be WITHOUT a JOB very soon.
My husband and I are going too. I only registered for me. Bet a lot of people did this. So our numbers may be much higher than anticipated. We’re from Cincinnati but are planning a vacation immediately following the march in South Carolina.
I am hoping to attend but can’t seem to get many details. Why is that? From Missouri

How can we pay nearly a 50% tax rate and still not have funds to maintain country? Gross over site and political corruption in city, state and federal gov’t should be cleaned out, and a new structure should be implemented. Smart systems are not at work here, the whole program is counterproductive. We need to use the creative resources to make a new set of rules, ones without the bureaucratic lag and the self interested protocol.
Marion, you are right on target with your questions. I beleive that the current combination of issues are going to “change” America. However, I do not think anyone will be able to describe the outcomes untill much later (maybe in a decade or two). “Change” is inevitable and what we experience will be permanent. I think that the criminals are in our house and going about their dastardly deeds. Since we have allowed them into the house, we will have to use strong and direct methods to get them out. If we succeed, we will have to ensure they never return. That in itself will be permanent “change”, and America will be different regardless of the winners.
Do not let the individual issues be a distraction. They are stealing our country with the idea that you are property and that you can have only what they want you to have. Notice that they are passing laws that exempt themselves from the laws that apply to everyone else. It isn’t environment, economy, rich vs. poor, or race that is central. It is all about who is in power. Who do you think wants so much power? Why do they want so much power? What will they do if allowed to have such massive power?
How will you find out who wins any political vote? Who will tell you? Do you trust the media to tell you the truth? Do you believe that the media will tell the public that the ballot boxes are being stuffed by ACORN? Is it possible that the media will tell you that the next “elected”official received only one vote? (That vote being the “ONE” who is in power.) That is likely how Venezuela has become a dictatorship. Look at how the communists “elect” their leaders. Look at how the Iranians elect their leaders.
If one truely believes that it cannot happen here, then that one (or more) is foolish. Many have said that the current economic conditions could never happen. Many have said that private business cannot be taken over by goverrnment, but these things have happened. Why can the questions asked not be answered? Why is it that dissenters are called names? Isn’t that what children do when they cannot answer? Don’t cowards use name calling when they can’t face their opponents?
Lastly, just how fast can all of this become irreversible? Without the massive will of politicians and patriotic Americans, healthcare “change” would be law. “He” tried to do this before the August Congressional break. “They” have said they will pass it despite the WILL of the people being against it. Will they redouble their efforts to increase their power before the next election? What would you do to keep The U.S.A. operating under The Constitution of “We the people…”? What each one does will bind their children. Will each one of us bind our child to freedom and law or to authoritarian rule? Each must make the decision and decide whether they are with us or against us. There is longer middle ground.
You ARE aware, aren’t you, that not a single illegal vote has EVER been recorded due to ACORN voter-registration fraud? Just because some low-life turns in a registration for Donald Duck doesn’t mean he gets to cast a vote.
Got that? There has been NO voter fraud, NO stolen elections.
And God Bless President Obama. He’s the most competent man to occupy the office in a long while.
You’d think with all that smoke they’ve been blowing about voter fraud, there would have to be a fire somewhere – even just some smoking embers. Have they faced this lacking publicly yet?
Casting illegal votes is a serious charge – as it should be to everyone – so you have to wonder why the best investigators still cant produce the evidence that drives this paranoia? The answer is, this is another one of their faith based beliefs, where faith in fiction is all they need to believe something is true, as long as it can support negative falsehoods – or Lies – about obama. Having an over inflated value of one’s worth makes this easier for them to believe in lies.
How many of these people aren’t backing down from believing there was 1.5 million marchers on 9-12? Very few.

There is no takeover; there were free, democratic elections, and your side lost. There are no Communists or terrorist sympathizers in Congress. There is ONE socialist, who has been there for decades. is there any kind of way we can get a total of people that will attend on 9/12? because some people are registered with their teaparty in their own city.
I’m sure many won’t register and will show up as people’s schedule change. I know friends of mine are showing up since they will already be in town and didn’t register.
I don’t think everyone is signing up here that they will attend. I know that we have a bus going from Spartanburg, SC. So far we have 28 people confirmed, but looking to fill a bus of 55 at minimum, and will take a second bus if we get enough people signed up.
Local Drive-time jock Doc Watson on WRVA here in Richmond, VA has been talking the March up. Since not everyone is on line we participants should be getting the word out, too.
Tell your friends and co-workers about it. Just make sure you let them know it’s not about the Left, the Right or Obama…it’s about out of control legislation and outrageous spending.
ALSO…WRITE to your legislators and I mean by “Snail Mail”. They count each one of them as speaking for hundreds of those that don’t write. It also shows you mean business!

I am 61 years of age and I am apalled and frightened witless at just how fast the movement to Marxism has come about. This Country bears NO resemblance to the Ameica that I grew up in. The corruption is American governent is completely out of contrlol This movement has got to be stopped right now.
I have a doctor daughter and another daughter who is currently in medical school. I have sent them outakes from the Obama Healthcare proposal and told them that they need to fight it with everything they have. Hopefully, they will get the word to their colleagues and friends, in time!

Most protesters believe that some form of reform is needed for health care (namely Insurance reform) but that government shouldn’t play any part in it. Supporters of the Obama plan better step back and look at what they’re fighting for; one day they may have to explain to their children or grandchildren why it is they can’t get quality or timely care (or any care) because while a free form of care may be out there….good luck making it work for you. Have you been to a post office lately. It takes an hour to drop off a piece a mail, service sucks, tracking a package takes 12-14 days…these are the same people that will be “overseeing your health care”. My wife and I are registered, but I know that at least one bus (maybe two) is destined to the DC Tea Party from way down here in liberal Tallahassee, Florida. Frankly, I have nothing but opprobrium, scorn, and contempt for the progressives who are denigrating our culture and bankrupting our treasury for their ideology. They use stealth, subterfuge, and guise to ram through unwanted legislation to undermine our values and expand the role of government. This is about more than federalized healthcare to us. It’s about an out of control Congress and the lack of leadership by a rookie President who ignores our Constitution and millions of his constituents. It’s about massive corruption, rapidly increasing debt, and lack of transparency by an administration that has been the most opaque in modern history. So-called journalists will not investigate and report, so we, the people, must get the message out ourselves. Pack up the babies and bring the old ladies…a huge impression is needed or we will be ignored or dismissed. Make up a unique sign and put your “mobster name” on it. There was never any doubt that we could be victorious over any evil that might try to overtake us. That evil has been from outside. I am a disabled vet, but the military won’t recognize me.
Im 35 years old, no kids, married 2 years, and I have an incurable progressive illness. I rely on SSDI for income, as well as my wifes MEASYLY 30 hour work week as a temp with the USPS (didn’t know they had temps at the Postal Service?) I have NO health insurance, and defenitely won’t when Healthcare gets trashed.
I asked my wife the other night: are you prepared to make $3.00 per hour doing a job in the private sector, that government employees will be paid $25.00 per hour to do? Thats whats happening, even as we speak. The private sector is being choked out, and the government is buying it all up with stimulus money.

I have a close friend in the UK with the same illness as me (MS) there are great medications on the market, but she can’t get them, because their cost ($1200 per month) We are talking about meds that STOP the illness in its tracks, and allow people to carry on with NORMAL PRODUCTIVE LIVES (EVEN going back to work!)…So even though she is mid-20’s she is forced to sit by and get worse…till she dies.
Ill live with NO INSURANCE at all, stop being paid my $8000 peanut income from SSDI, and DIE PENNILESS, rather than see the USMS (United States Medical Service) and the USSA United Socialist Service of America..
Our elected officials better look up the word “Chaos” , because that is where we are headed. We should have put a stop to this when they took God out of our lives. I’m coming as part of 4 busloads from Reading PA. I’m on disability from 4 back surgeries. It’s going to be a painful ride and a very long day for me. After so many Americans have died trying to bring about or retrieve freedom for other countries, it would be dereliction of duty to not do the same in our own country. I understand the the crowd photos from Saturday were photo-shopped to make it look like the crowd was bigger. The photos have buildings missing from the Mall. What’s up with that?
The photo was not photo-shopped, it was taken at an anti-war rally prior to 2005. The America-haters want desperately to make people think there were over a million people there, but there were actually about 65,000.
This Obama-lynching crowd is just a radical fringe movement, and the more outrageous the lies get, the less likely the Republican party will survive.

I do think ‘permits’ needs a group all to itself. Seems we are short lawyers, etc. Mixing with logistics gives them coordination with march routes, etc. But ‘permits’ is a major problem the left is throwing at us constantly to derail Tea Parties.
