  1. Bummer, not arriving in DC until that afternoon. See you on Saturday !!

  2. I would love to attend but need a bit more information. I am also trying to organize a gathering point for all PA participants who will be attending the rally. Our states need to organize at a state level as well as a national level and so I am trying to take advantage of this time to get as many PA folks together as possible. Especially since it would certainly add to the momentum of the weekend if we could connect states and begin to prepare for up-coming elections.

Any comments, suggestions, advice or feedback is very welcome!!

Thank you for helping to further our shared mission!

    • HI,

I live in Northern VA and expect that my sister from the Cranberry area, north of Pittsburgh, will be at the 9/12 march. I will let her know to contact you.

  3. There are many of us who strongly support this cause but cannot travel to DC or participate in the march for one reason or another.

Is anyone trying to coordinate local efforts to have rallies in support? I am in the Fort Myers area and would be happy to volunteer to help get one going here. We had a hugely successful (turnout of almost 5,000!) Tea Party on April 15 but the organizers had a baby shortly thereafter and have their hands full. In Cape Coral, there was an excellent turnout and program on for the July 3 Freedom Rally orgainized by Mary Radkovich, as there was for the Tax Day Tea Party there.

If there were local events for those who cannot go to DC, that would boost the numbers hugely and show those who are supposed to be representing We The People that we will not give up our country without a fight.

    • I do know that Indianapolis is having one…and it seems I’ve heard several over the last month or so talking about it. You could check on http://www.teapartyday.com There site would tell you who is planning what in your area.

    • Kathy, check out “Smart Girl Politics” and join up for a rally in Fort Myers on 9.12.09. It is a wonderful website that is very active for these important unprecedented issues that face us.

    • I am in the Ft. Myers area. My husband and I want to go to D.C. for September 12th but don’t have a ton of money. Do you know where I can find info on same day charter flights or caravans going to D.C. from here? It would be greatly appreciated. :)

  4. Ron Paul might be speaking…I’m ordering 2 tickets right now :-) Thanx 4 the link! I’ll blog these sites…

  5. Where can I get more information about what is happening during the days preceeding the 9/12 March?

  6. 912 March on DC – Information for my group of North Carolinians…the link listed should have the up-to-date info.

I also suggest you go to http://www.resistnet.com and register, join your state group. Each state is getting coordinators to set things up for you.

If you haven’t made reservations, the following link is the best place to go to make them. All the best group discounts can be found there, as well as a map for the March, and scheduled events for each day.

Several of us from central NC are already booked at the Capitol Hilton. Looks like they still have a few rooms left, but I’m sure they are going fast.

Another one, close by, and still a good price is the Westin. I believe it’s on K Street and 14th, just a block or 2 away from the Hilton.

Each person has to decide when and how they are going, and how you will spend your “free time”.

As an example, my personal plans are:

Thursday, 9/10, leaving early enough to hopefully be there early enough to take in one of these sessions:

11:00 am: Fighting for Freedom at the Local Level
Adam Radman, Americans for Tax Reform
    Josh Culling, National Taxpayers Union
    Mark Meckler, Tea Party Patriots
    Steve Elliot, Grassfire.org
Jenny Beth Martin, Tea Party Patriots
    Amy Kremer, Tea Party Patriots

11:00 am: Battles in Congress – Health Care
    Chris Chocola, Club for Growth
    Rep. John Shadegg
    Sen. Tom Coburn
    Rep. Doug Lamborn
    Rep. Virginia Foxx

11:00 am: Battles in Congress – Taxes
Grover Norquist, Americans for Tax Reform
    Rep. Marsha Blackburn
    Rep. Tom Price
    Rep. Scott Garrett

From noon on, you can visit your representatives and perhaps do some sightseeing that evening.

    Friday, 9/11

9:00 am: September 11th Never Forget memorial on the National Mall

Afterwards, take in some of the following events:

11:00 am: Battles in Congress – Bailouts and Business Cycles
    Dr. Wayne Brough, FreedomWorks
    Rep. Ron Paul
    Sen. Jim DeMint
    Rep. Mike Pence
    Rep. Michele Bachmann

1:00 pm: Battles in Congress – Budget
Steve Moore, The Wall Street Journal
    Rep. Paul Broun
    Rep. Jeb Hensarling
    Rep. Jeff Flake

    1:00 pm: Entrepreneurs in America
    State Representative Tom Graves
    Activist Delores Gresham
    Activist Jenny Beth Martin

These 2 events are also scheduled:

5:00 pm: Young Americans for Liberty Happy Hour

7:00 pm: FreedomWorks Dinner at The Reagan Center

I’m planning to skip the Happy Hour and Dinner, and to go the following, and would like to invite you, too:

Counter-protest with Freerepublic against Code Pink and in support of our troops at Walter Reed.

    Saturday, 9/12

8:00 am: Set up for stages and volunteers

9:30 am: March on Washington Begins

1:00 pm: Rally at the U.S. Capitol begins

    5:00pm Rally Ends

Saturday night will be spent with new friends and old, dinner and maybe drinks somewhere yet to be determined.

Sunday 9/13, after check out, I plan to make a stop at the Vietnam Wall with other patriots and visit the Tomb of The Unknown Soldier to watch the changing of the guard… before heading home.

    Regarding travel plans:

Some people are going up on Wed. If that is your plan, please let us know if you are chartering a bus, taking the train, or car-pooling, as others might want to join you.

I believe we’ve got people lined up to caravan to DC on Thursday morning. If you want to carpool or if we could get enough people to rent a large passenger van, we could ride up together. Just let me know.

If you want to ride the train, Amtrak is available all over the state – round trip tickets run approx. $100.
That could also be a fun way to travel.

If you are interested in a carpool, charter bus, passenger van or Amtrak, please let me know and we can arrange for people to travel as a group.

The best link to get your hotel reservations and up to date info is:

  7. Like Rick from Plano we don’t arrive til Thurs aft (probly on same flight!)
    What happens Thurs aft/eve?
    Marcy

  8. We can’t wait….it is going to be great!!

  9. Please bring your individual state flags with you.
Let’s show them that we have solidarity and that the State’s Rights, are just as important today, as they were at the Founding of our nation!!

  10. I’ll be there on Friday afternoon. Have flag will travel

  11. Is there any way Free Republic can be removed from the co-sponsers. A lot of their members are acting like they are going to cause trouble, including the owner of that site promoting revolution. I’m afraid some stupid member from that group will do something dumb and it will be a black eye on this whole event.

  12. We must turn the tide in 2010 or we will pass the point of no return I fear.

  13. Hi, I’m going down from Connecticut on Thursday morning on Amtrak. I’m staying in Capital City at the Sheraton, $99 per night special they had. I plan on sightseeing on Thursday afternoon or evening and Friday.

I don’t think I’ll take in any of the meetings, but will join up with people, hopefully, from Connecticut at the Capital Hilton for the March on Saturday morning.

I am looking forward to seeing Arlington Cemetary and the changing of the guard. Since I’m in Capital City and on the blue line, I’ll be able to get there real quick. I already ordered my Smartrip Metro pass.

I can’t wait to hear who will be speaking at the March on Saturday. This a special 4 days for me because I’ve never been to DC and never been to a protest march.

  14. My wife and I are very much in support of TEA Party and would love to participate in the DC march in September. If it was later on in September, we’ll probably be there visiting with two of our sons. Mike lives in Stafford County and Rob lives in Vienna. In any event, would there be something planned as well for us not going anywhere here in San Antonio. We actually attended the April TEA party held at the Alamo and have even purchsed T-shirts from that event. Looking forward to future TEA events!

  15. All of this Tea Party stuff started when a African-American won the Presidency. When the country was messed up for the last eight years you did’nt hear a peep from Tea Party goers. Thats why the media is not reporting the hatred. Everyone I talked with said most Tea Party members say its the Government but they say its really Obama. And thats from a true Tea Party person who do not miss a meeting or anything to do with getting back at Obama. Obama took office with a national debt and two wars and a bad economy and a former Vice President who took matters in his own hands. What ever happen to the weapons of mass distruction? Thats why Racism still exist in America. You have to spend money to bring back the economy, because cutting taxes is not the answer, because people are going to save all their money and not put it in the economy. Where you need to march is on Wall Street and all the Banks that put America in this mess. Face it this President is doing a good job with what he was left with on his desk when he took office. And now Former President Bush is laughing and not saying anything because he know he left a big mess. Protest for the right reason, not because you dont like a African-American President. Keep it real, I would like it better if the Tea Parties just say the truth. Its like the Fox Network who say they are Fair and Balanced, when we all know that they are a Republican Network, think about it. They have Sean Hannity, Newt Gingwich, Glenn Beck, Fox and Friends, etc. To be fair, MSNBC is a Progressive Network. All I ask is to be honest, and don’t use something else to cover it up. It makes you look stupid. Hope you will be able to show this, maybe not , the truth sometimes hurt a lot.

    • It’s not the color of his skin, it’s the color of his policies – Red, Red, Red. (And that goes for Bush and TARP, too.)

    • WOW.. Where to start…I am floored by your outlook on what the TEA parties are all about!! We meet monthly and have addressed topics such as Health Care, Cap and Trade..and Fair Tax. There has been nothing stated outloud or underlying…about the color of our President’s skin. Not only are his policies RED RED RED..but they are being pushed through at a dangerously excelerated speed!!

Also, the fair and balanced on FOX comes from the panels and correspondants…not from the host/hostess. They must be doing something right….they are still #1

    • Oh, yeah, Marrion, we all know what great savers Americans are. So my husband, who was born into a poor family in a very small Western town, worked his tail off to get a college degree (paid for himself), served in the US Navy, was honorable discharged and started his own small company, paying 45% in taxes, is supposed to pay even more taxes so you can feel good about your African American President? Sure, because he’s a Raaaacist! Riiight.

  16. I would like more details about the length of time and where to stay.

    Thanks,

  17. If you can’t make it, give some money. I just gave $100.00. I would have spent that easily. Put it to good use. The guy in the Atlanta August 15th Centennial PArk picture has a sign with this web address. Let him know it raised $100!

    Go get ‘em.
