Ms. Hasty I just watched your video and am sitting here crying on my sofa. I’m a young mom with two beautiful little kids and you sound like a powerful prophetess trying to show me their future if I don’t stand up now and do something. I had a friend in college who was a Cuban refuge and I remember how passionate he was about democracy. I had several friends who’d escaped from Cambodia. We keep imagining that it won’t happen here. I worry about being too political, that it might offend some of my friends. But what would I do to stop my children from having to face that future!? You have given me a passion and courage that I didn’t have. Please keep speaking – you are blessed and passionate and you need to be heard! Bless you!

We are under siege. What we need in America is….dare is say it, yes I will because I don’t care… it is GOD! What is happening in America right now my fellow American’s is God withdrawing his grace upon us because the bad people in power and some of the athiests want to systematically remove GOD from everything in America. Don’t you see it??? They are attacking Christianity everywhere you turn, from getting rid of crosses in semitary’s to plaques in public areas to striping it away from our schools, to now disrupting the sanctity of our churches with horrible protests during masses. What about the poor athletic director and associate facing prison for 6months and loss of job and pension because of 1 prayer, not during school or on grounds but at a luncheon??? What are they afraid of you have to ask, is it GOD???We should protest this to high heaven and support these two brave individuals. Christians need to band together and let our voices be heard. We need to get back to family, family, family and upholding the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman. Mom’s and dad’s need to stay married and love one another and the children. We need to pray again. If everyone prays just one prayer/ or better yet rosery or what ever prayer your religion dictates together, we will see this country turn around I will guarentee this but we all have to try. Jesus and the Virgin Mary will listen to us. We need not be afraid to pray and stand up to these thugs. Protest and hold the congressman accountable and let your voices be heard.
This is the first comment I’ve written, and I want to personally thank you for this “right on” assessment of how our beloved America can be rescued from the atheistic people who are part of the powerful elite who want to drag this country down the road to fascism as quickly as they can get us there! God is the ONLY way out of this situation. Being a strong and proud Catholic, (and frankly embarrassed by the so-called Roman Catholics in the Obama administration who are extremely pro-abortion) I pray my rosary every day asking God to rescue our country from the evil that is descending upon our country for the many reasons you stated of how God is being forced out of our society! It will only get worse and worse if we continue to ignore Him, but it can all turn around if AT LEAST all Christians turn to him and PRAY for forgiveness. Hey Bridgett you are extremely correct about the negative turn of America and be I say the world in general!! The post vietnam babies have decided that they and their children are too burnt out and stupid to decide what is right and what is moral. I met a guy over 10 yrs ago that had died 2 times on the operating table and he told me what to expect. I read all the Bible Code books and also others that predict that Christ WILL return in the very near future to ave HIS people. Its sad that its this generation that will not perservere..with al the advances of modern technology yet its kinda predictable and also kinda timely.. Lazy people have let Big Government take over their lives and the corruption is sizable. I am going to attend the march on dc and am hoping to bring as many people as humanly possible!! Bridget, I agree with you wholeheartedly, however, I believe Obama was a blessing from God. If it were not for him, we would still be in a stupor. McCain would have just kept taking us down the same slippery slope that Bush was taking us down. It would have been like the boiling frog story. They were turning the heat up slowly. Obama turned the heat up fast and now the people have awaken out of their slumber, hopefully in time to turn this evil back.

Hi I AM A 59 YEAR OLD DISABLED VETERAN AND I WROTE THIS SONG FOR THE D.C. MARCH.
We need to take back America from the hands of the politicians that no longer are willing to listen to the people that got them elected. 2010 will be the most important elections in our history. It is time get people in office that are willing to listen to the people and start making the right changes. My husband and I wlll be there September 12th. I am excited to see the people of The United States of America starting to wake-up, you have been coned, duped, deceived. You have bought into a message of “change” but you have forgotten to ask the meaning of change (Obama’s idea of change.) Your press, radio and TV media have been mesmerized by Obama’s smooth mannerisms, rhetoric, double talk, and his creative speech. They have shirked their responsibilities as journalists and have failed to process the words, ask the hard questions and delve into the meaning of the message he is spewing. The media have been schmoozed by the leaders of the left into forgetting their purpose and have exchanged it for so-called friendship with the Obama administration, to the point where he is now controlling dissemination of all media; it is just rhetoric, lies, and misinformation. My suggestion, turn off the “state controlled media”
The Obama administrations goal is to control freedom of press, freedom of information, freedom of speech, freedom of peaceful assemble. Simply put, just power and control and further loss of your God given freedoms.
Cape and Trade is not about protecting the environment, it is also about power and control. It is nothing but extracting money and will create financial hardship on the hardworking people of America, all in the name of protecting our planet. People of America, global warming or cooling cannot be proved, it is just a hoax.
The stimulus likewise is not about getting America back to work, restoring America to its grander and place in the World, and it is about building a financial war chest where by the Obama administration can buy or strong arm the elected officials, their respective states and the people of their states by promising financial stimulus, job creation money, etc, providing they bow to the Obama administration’s terms for receiving the money. He is really giving the states and their people back their money, or should I say he has forged their name, their children’s names, grandchildren, and great grand children’s name to a massive stimulus loan … that he is metering out to his advantage. This debt will be the noose around the necks of the American people for many years to come.
Health care likewise is not about providing heath care to all Americans; it is about further government power and control in your lives. I agree the present health care may need some review, but not government intervention in people’s lives. Private enterprise can handle health care effectively with some oversight from the people of America, but not to the extent the Obama administration is presently putting forth. Obama’s plan if implemented will be no different than the Post office, Fanny May, Freddie Mac, our states and cities as examples… bankrupt with out of control spending, needing more and more stimulus money. The Obama health plan will infiltrate all areas of your life, from your life style, your recreational activities, your work environment, vehicle design and safety to speed limits, because all these will affect the costs on your government health care.
I am a Canadian, I live in Canada. We are deeply interested in what happens in America, you see when the USA sneezes we get a cold. When your economy is in trouble we suffer also. When we see your president heading down the road to socialism, power and control, loss of God given freedoms…you see we have already arrived. We have universal government health care. A version of the very health care Obama is proposing. We pay heavily through a wage deduction from our pay checks by our employers. We are told how much care we will receive, when and if at all we will get the care and the waiting lines are long. The doctors have their wages capped. They are told how many patents they may have, and when patients are nearing end of life what care will be available and what is not. If you are lucky to have saved some money under our overbearing taxation system, you then can provide for yourself by heading to India or America to get the need operation or surgery. I should mention that our health care coverage is running out of money fast, I am not sure what will happen then…additional taxation, limited health coverage or both.
My father has a saying, the government has brainwashed us into thinking, they (bureaucrats, definition: those that have a job for life without being elected and cannot be fired or let go) believe they can manage our money better then we can. Truth be told, each elected official, government employee and bureaucrat have forgotten just who they are working for.
I hope whoever reads this will become so enraged or angered and seek to send a message to their elected official, the Obama’s administration or by showing up in Washington. The power belongs to the people of America, “We the People” not the Obama administration. It is time to take that power back peacefully.
Not six months from now, before things have gone too far… but now.
I would suggest that each able bodied American plan to march on Washington. I believe it may be the turning point in the Obama’s administration. It will be remembered just like “Woodstock”. It will be in the history books as an event that sent such a strong message to any governing body not to mess with the American people, or the constitution they swore to uphold. AMERICA IT IS TIME TO RALLY.

How can those of us disabled enough not to be able to go to DC show that we would be there if we could? I would love to attend but my spinal condition and pain don’t allow me to travel so how can I be part of the DC march? I belong to enough groups like this one so I am showing my support but I want to be counted as one of the marchers because I would be there if I coul.

My wife and I, plus a friend, are attending the March. When an acquaintance of the friend found out, and they too were not able to attend, they fronted us some money to help with travel costs, bail (!!), etc. So my suggestion is that you help sponsor a person who IS going. Whether it’s just a few dollars or a few hundred, it will help greatly. All of us who are going are doing so at great personal cost, and I’m sure the support will be appreciated.
Another thought: make a poster for the person you sponsor to carry. That will help voice your concerns in a way that may even make it visible on TV where millions can see the fruit of your efforts and the intensity of your concern. By the way, thanks for caring enough to show your support locally!
Here’s what I did….I’m going with my sister and had a friend that wanted to come with us. She can’t because her husband is ill. I made a poster with her name and picture on it with what she wanted to say. I’d do one for you, but I have all the signs I can carry myself! Maybe others would be willing to do it for you! I think it would be great so see lots of signs with pictures of people that couldn’t make it!

That is a great idea. I had the same thought. If people would cute out a cardboard box in the shape of a woman or man, depending what sex you were, and pasted a picture of there face on it, and write what state you are from, and have another person going to DC hold it up, or paste it on a poster (bought there) so the ones that can’t make it would be there in Spirit, and pasted to a small cardboard image. What do you think? How can we get this out to all the people going, or to the ones that want to go, but can’t like me. Thanks Sandy

I wish I could attend this march on Washington….I am all for it. People are rising up in this country everywhere who have decided not to stand for this liberal socialistic government frought with endless lies and hollow promises. I will definitely join any meeting held in Nashville and be a part of the movement to stop what is happening to our country. The next election will be heavily won by more conservative candidates who care to listen to their constituents. The senate and the house will tip back Republican and balance this total lack of caring for the thoughts and wishes of the American people. People like me who are independent and open minded are sick of the crazy spending and government attempts to take over everything we have strived for and worked hard for. There is great change in the wind, great excitement that we can band together and put t stop to it. Why do you think Fox news is the most watched news in America now? We are sick of the liberal press who only report what they want the people to hear. Their ratings are dropping and I hope they loose enough of their watching public to go down the tubes. That is what they deserve!

As a popular local radio talk show host said recently at a Tea Party that brought out over 7,000 people in Akron Ohio, the only way to change the media is to hit them in their pocket books. (there was no media coverage of this huge event by the way)
When you go home after the DC event and see that none of your local media is reporting the gathering or that they shed a negative light on it, you need to keep watching for the next hour or so and make a note of every advertiser on that runs a commercial on those stations.
Then you need to call all of those companies, local or national and tell them that you will not be purchasing their products because the stations that they are supporting financially with their advertising dollars are not giving an honest or accurate reporting of the legitimate opposition of the dismantling of the United States economy ant the rights of its citizens. Ask them how the media can ignore a gathering of that many thousands of Americans in Washington DC, or if they even heard of the event.
Then tell them to be sure to tell their advertising sales representative that you called and what you said so that the message gets back to the media source.
If enough people do this, businesses will change where they put their dollars and the media will notice. You must keep this up though for at least a couple or few months or until this administration is out of office or looses its majority in 2010.
You have to hit them in their pocket books.

Lets Open the Churches of DC for accomdations like they did for the Promise Keepers rally back in the 1997. This will allow some to come that could not afford to otherwise.

I am very disappointed in Freedomworks. As a member of the First Coast Tea Party I have worked hard promoting the 912 event. I did several videos and I built the Dartmouth and encouraged our people to follow it to DC for the 912 event. Three of us traveled to DC to meet with Freedomworks to get help with logistics of having the Dartmouth in DC. We got nowhere and got a bunch of lip service. Then we heard promises from the Florida Cordinator that Freedomworks would help us. The reply back from Freedomworks was; have you checked with the DC police? We have tried to get our own permit and there is no space available. We also heard from freedomworks “not to bother the Capital Police” because they didn’t want us intefering in their event. I will go to DC with the Dartmouth even if I have to leave it in a campground, but Freedomworks is on my *&^% list.
I personally feel this is all nonsense. I am a history student and have study American history in all its horrors from slavery, Old South ideas being fed into today and of course the unthinking anger and fear that fuels movments like these. Americans are in my view highly misinformed and uneducated and that us having all this power to hurt and force others to our will is a huge problem. I want us to be socialist I think we all need to remove Capitalism and find something else that does not create greedy and self-centered people.
I am not proud of my nation I think yes in the past we have helped but, we forget that our founders lived in the late 18th century it is the early 21st now. Events and people change in society and if we do not change in the long run we will be worse off then before.
I understand America’s love for God it is not a real love it is a love built on the idea that my parents were Christian so I will be Christian. If Americans really believed what they say we would not be in the mess we are now.
The problem is that under our current culture thought and freedom of express cannot exist..
If I say I do not believe God exists or that he cannot be proven or disproven to exist. Then I am labeled as un a fool.
I for one find this country to be not the best on earth it is in some ways the worst we tell people from all over the world we want them to come and live a better life. The truth is we want them for their work so they will do the jobs we are to lazy to do ourselves.
This is what I have experienced here. I am a Southern man and I am a U.S. Citizen yet, this country is so stupid in knowing its history and in knowing about the world around it that I am ashamed of it.
My fellow Americans my hate me for what I say but, it is true we are on the losing end of power just face it. All nation’s have power like the Romans the English and others. Eventually it ends what is important is that we care for the people and not some idea made up by self-interested people.
I support socialism and it is my hope that it takes root here.
And I know people will say go live in Europe if that is what you want and I will say yes I will. At least the Europeans think before they act.

Well forgive me sir, I thought this was America and a person could speak their mind without being called stupid or somehow out of step with the nation.
I just have one question sir have you ever actually read the Federalist papers or for that matter those whom in this country did notl like the fact that the founders did all of their work in secret and not out in the public forum?
What about how our founders who were so enlighted as to count human beings as 3/5 a person for voting purposes. Americans need to wake up and stop buying into fake speeches about freedom and liberty told to them by actors dressed as our founders.

We have been told all of our lives that America has a free market capitalist economic system. Perhaps it did at some point in the past, but for the last few generations it has gradually been converted into a socialist system. Which kind of socialism doesn’t really matter, whether corporatist — govt manipulation by tax breaks, no-bid contracts and competitive protection for registered corporations to produce specified products and services — or marxist — directly government-run institutions, organizations, associations and companies.
In contrast, a free market, by definition, is free OF something, it is free of manipulation and control by government. Like pesticide-free (organic) vegetables, even the slightest amount of pesticide would mean it’s not organic — any government manipulation or control, likewise distorts and toxifies the market.
Here are some examples of socialism that we have grown accustomed to:
- Universal, opt-out public education (19th Century) and truancy laws (1910s)
- A strong central bank since 1913, the Federal Reserve System, printing money with no intrinsic value since 1971.
- An income tax since 1914, which has become “heavily progressive” over time, along with state income taxes in much of the country.
- Incorporation laws for businesses, associations, churches (other tax-exempt organizations), along with regulations and registration requirements (1930s)
- Federal government Social Security and Food Stamps (1930s)
- Public-private partnerships in military contracts, energy production, housing, mental health, “public” transportation, college tuition grants, research and development grants, Amtrack, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, etcetera (1940s-today).
- Federal Medicare/Medicaid (1960s) and Congress’ HMO Act of 1973 and health insurance related tax breaks for large employers (1970s) — that was “health care reform” to cover “millions of uninsured people” back then. How’s it working now? Before Medicare/aid and health insurance laws, church-run and some private hospitals gave necessary and emergency care to anyone who asked for it and the middle class paid cash (it was more affordable then and there was more real income).
- In much of the country, requirements for auto insurance liability, vehicle and driver’s license registration and state or county permits for house construction/remodeling/ demolition, zoning, pumping gas, and other permits for various work-related activities (1950s – today).
- Licenses for doctors, lawyers, nurses, CPAs, salesmen, teachers, building contractors, trades, other professional and commercial jobs of various kinds, recreational activities like boating, flying, hunting, owning guns, fishing, SCUBA, skydiving, etc., various personal safety laws (early 20th century – today).
- EPA emissions standards, regulation of chemicals and fertilizers, landuse planning regulations, seizure through eminent domain (1970s-80s).
-Regulations in energy, trade, financing, education, farming, ranching, mining, forestry, manufacturing, medicine, travel industry, etc.
There are very few work activities that DON’T require you to get permission from some level of government, and pay a fee, of course. Only people who haven’t run a business or productive enterprise of any kind, and have honestly thought about this, will either think that it’s a free society or would “prefer socialism”.
I could go on and on, but the point is that America has had nothing close to a free market capitalist system for a very long time. Some people are ok with the current system, but I am not. We can disagree about that. But let’s at least acknowledge that it is already very socialist, in many ways.
The free market is nothing more and nothing less than each person exercising their inalienable rights; to life, liberty and the PURSUIT of happiness and EVERY named right in the Bill of Rights, including those retained by the people (10th Amendment). The principle difference is that every decision is voluntary on each person’s part, with no coercion, in contrast to socialism (whether corporatist or marxist) which relies on force or threat of force at some point.

I love it my point is made in the reactions here no one in this group at least that I can tell acts with information only fear of the unkown. The truth is people that this nation will fall it is only a matter of time. We are just like the Romans we think that our

Share Print CommentsWASHINGTON — A former top official for Voice of America was indicted Friday on corruption charges, accused of taking thousands of dollars in concert and sports tickets in exchange for favors to disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff.
Horace Cooper, who is also a one-time aide to former Republican House Majority Leader Dick Armey, is accused of defrauding the government after getting choice seats to see ‘N Sync, the Dixie Chicks, and Bruce Springsteen, among others.
The indictment charges Cooper agreed to use his position at Voice of America – and his subsequent job at the Labor Department – to advance the interests of Abramoff and his clients.
Abramoff was sentenced in September 2008 to four years in prison on charges of mail fraud, conspiracy and tax evasion. Since pleading guilty in 2006, the once-powerful lobbyist has cooperated with the federal investigation of influence-peddling in Washington.
The long-running corruption probe has led to the convictions of one former congressman – Republican Bob Ney of Ohio – and 16 others, including lobbyists, Bush administration officials, congressional staffers and businessmen.
Prosecutors say that between 2002 and 2004, Cooper received thousands of dollars worth of free meals or drinks at Abramoff’s restaurant, as well as a free Super Bowl party for him and about 25 friends.
The five-count indictment charges Cooper also took thousands of dollars worth of free entertainment, including tickets to professional baseball, hockey, basketball, and tennis events, as well as concert tickets.
Officials say Cooper did not report the gifts on government paperwork.
Cooper’s lawyer, Solomon Wisenberg, denied the charges.
“We are very disappointed that the Department of Justice has decided to go forward with these charges,” the lawyer said. “Horace Cooper is innocent and we look forward to our day in court.”
Cooper, 44, worked as chief of staff at Voice of America in 2002, before taking the same position at the Department of Labor’s Employment Standards Administration, where he worked until 2005.
In both positions, prosecutors charge, he used his official position to advance the private interests of the lobbyist Abramoff and his clients.
The indictment charges Cooper agreed to help Abramoff secure VOA funding for the lobbyist’s newly formed television production business, and assist an Abramoff client, a Mariana Islands garment manufacturer, with an investigation they were facing by the U.S. Department of Labor.
He is due in court next month on charges of fraudulent concealment, false statements, and one count of obstruction of an official proceeding. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted of the most serious charge
