  1. Make no mistake about it, the winds of real change are shifting and will continue to grow. What was Teddy Kennedy’s dream for America? When you look at his legislation, it is clear. What change is it that Obama offered us? When you look at the direction and spending, it is clear.

This is not where the American people want to go. We are fed up with the creation of the nanny state and that which was offered as change but is just more of the same old Democrat yarn- tax and spend. The only real difference is that the Democrats are spending at an astonishing rate. The taxes, they claim, don’t exist. Yes they do. They have already taken hold at the local and state levels across this country. The federal taxes are disguised in the proposed legislation. Cap and Trade, which now will tax the air we literally breath. Universal health to replace the failing Democrat dream that Teddy helped create- Medicare. The fees, taxes, and MORE spending are mind boggling. The lost freedoms incalcuable. Nearly every page of these proposed bills enslave if read against the truths of what they will do to current rights and law.

I support the tax protest that winds across this country. You liberal elite fools will experience for the first time the might of a committed people. We are united in the simple premise of what our Founding Fathers wrote was our right. To abolish any form of government that attempts to trample our life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. We first protest. You argue that you have won a mandate from the people. The people who voted weren’t clear what your objective was, and many have changed their minds. There is no exclusive party in this nation that loves freedom. It is shared by Democrat, Republican, Independent , and Libertarian. We who march represent all those who question what is happening and love the Constitution. We will not stand by and watch this nation be destroyed and taken away from us. We first protest.

Next we will vote. I attended a town hall of a Republican who has been in the Congress for nearly thirty years. One of the people asked this congressman if he would take the same health coverage that the people are being offered in this legislation? This was a simple yes or no question, but the congressman did what they all are doing, ignored the question and instead explained his health care package. It is time to remove all the incumbents that serve themselves instead of their constituents. This snake that is called our government must be beheaded and new people installed to unwind this behemoth of spending and special interests. Washington, D.C. is a malignant tumor that has tapped into the blood and treasure of this nation and is now killing her. It must be treated. The treatment is the removal. This is the next step of our protest.

Each state must organize over this next year protestors that numerically and visually will prove that a sham re-election of an incumbent will not be possible. There will be no Ahmadinejad’s in this country. Nor will stones be tossed in protest. Many believe we have a sham in power now with the revelations of the activities of the taxpayer supported ACORN organization.

I haven’t worked since the usurper was elected. I have lost nearly everything while the elite have lost nearly nothing. I am willing to die for this cause. I will not work again until I know that my country is once again setting sail towards independence and individual freedoms. Tax that. Stimulate this. We The People will mean something again. The Tea Party express will march, we will be successful, and you will once again be our servants- not our masters.
Protest Taxes- Vote all incumbents out in 2010

    • stop blaming president obama for bush’s 8 years of failure! obama’s been in office for 7 months and has done more good for the country than bush did in 2 terms. there was a budget surplus when bush took office and he ran the country into the ground. take some responsibility you whiners!

      • flo, do you have nothing better to do then go to all the sites and write your BS, Bush is in the past, i aim looking forward and do not like what i see. It was alright for you to complain when you did not like bush but how dare we complain, you are so two face you make me sick. when is your next war protest, you did not care about young men dieing, you only wanted to say something bad about Bush, and now their is more troops dieing then ever you don’t say anything what a peace of work you are, get some balls and stand up for something

      • Hey Flo,
Bush and Obama where on the same set of tracks, only diff. is Obama is on the High Speed rail straight to hell.Bush was doing the same crap.
What part of Liberty and Freedom do you not understand!!
        Open your failing eyes man!

        • I understand Ed! That’s why I’m proposing change of our own! The answer to all our problems. Glenn will fix everything and restore this country to what our founding fathers intended. Sarah will look cute and give speeches and interviews!

Get out your markers and poster board fellow Americans!

          • Beck/Palin would surely get my vote.
They would turn this country upside down,as it needs to be!
            Count me in on that!

          • Whoever this Beck/Palin2012 person is, I believe, is an interloper. Anyone who’s truly concerned about what’s going on in this country and is paying attention to what Glenn says would not say “Beck will fix everything” or “Palin will look cute and give speeches” this person is a spy, an intruder. Nice try though.

        • GUESS Flo is willing to give up freedom. Wake up and smell the coffee Flo, Amen Ed

      • Flo, if you don’t mind, I would like you to list for us all the good things that Obama has done for the country so far. I think the things you consider good will uncover whether you and others are really socialist/communist or not.

        • Would you say that banning torture and protecting human rights is good? Would you say that getting our allies and beyond to respect and support the US is a good thing? What about doing great work to help the economy rebound? How pushing Dems about being fair and open to compromise with Republicans even while the Dems are in control? How about making the US safer from terrorists?

Responding to criticism from former Vice President Cheney that President Obama is making the nation more vulnerable to terrorism, the president’s National Security Adviser, Gen. Jim Jones (Ret.), told ABC News in an exclusive interview that actually the reverse is true: President Obama’s greater success with international relations has meant more terrorists put out of commission.

“This type of radical fundamentalism or terrorism is a threat not only to the United States but to the global community,” Jones said. “The world is coming together on this matter now that President Obama has taken the leadership on it and is approaching it in a slightly different way – actually a radically different way – to discuss things with other rulers to enhance the working relationships with law enforcement agencies – both national and international.”

Jones said that “we are seeing results that indicate more captures, more deaths of radical leaders and a kind of a global coming-together by the fact that this is a threat to not only the United States but to the world at-large and the world is moving toward doing something about it.”

The former Marine General didn’t provide any specific numbers to back up his claim, but he said “there is an increasing trend and I think we seen that in different parts of the world over the last few months for sure.” He added that he was not “making a tally sheet saying we are killing more people, capturing more people than they did — that is not the issue.”

But the numbers are going up, he said. “The numbers of high value targets that we are successfully reaching out to or identifying through good intelligence” from both the CIA and intelligence agencies from US allies has made the difference, he said. “We have better human intelligence; we know where the terrorists are moving. Because of the dialogue and the tone of the dialogue between us and our friends and allies…the trend line against terrorism is positive, and that’s what we want. If we have a positive trend line we have a safer country.”

Jones made his comments the day after Mr. Cheney said he has “serious doubts” about the extent to which President Obama “understands and is prepared to do what needs to be done to defend the nation.” Cheney assailed the decision by Attorney General Eric Holder to begin a preliminary investigation into whether any CIA officers went beyond what they were told was legally permissible in interrogating detainees.

“It’s an outrageous precedent to set, to have this kind of, I think, intensely partisan, politicized look-back at the prior administration,” Cheney said.

Jones dismissed questions that the investigation was the result of political pressure and said “people that were acting within the law don’t have anything to worry about.”

“Obviously the former Vice President feels strongly about certain things,” Jones said, “I don’t know if it is a question of legacy.”

“I take exception” to assertions “that something that we decided or the president decided will make the country less safe,” Jones said. “I just don’t agree with that. We are about making this country safe. I think that we are fashioning global relationships with other countries around the world.”

“We are doing everything to make this country safe every single day,” Jones asserted.

Jones didn’t buy Cheney’s argument that the effectiveness of the Bush-Cheney counterterrorism policies are proven in the fact that the U.S. didn’t experience any terrorist attacks on U.S. soil after September 11, 2001. “It’s very easy to leave office and say, ‘Well, no other disaster happened on the size and scope of 9/11, so we did our job well.’ Well, maybe they did, maybe they didn’t.”

Jones did not dismiss Cheney’s argument that Holder’s decision could have a chilling effect on the willingness of CIA officers to do what they are told to do.

“I think it is something we have to address,” Jones said. “I think anybody who works in a law enforcement agency — whether it is the police or FBI or CIA — have to know clearly what the rules are and have to know what the law says and have to act with the parameters of the law. I think we are back, we are getting to a more consistent point.”

“We’re a nation of values,” he told ABC News. “I was on active duty when these techniques were used. I was surprised and disappointed.” The United States, he said, isn’t “known as a country that tortures people.”

Jones said he couldn’t provide any definitive answer as to whether, as Cheney argues, any detainees who were interrogated using methods President Obama has banned – ones that qualify as torture under international law – provided information they would not have offered using other means.

“I haven’t seen any compelling evidence that would argue because somebody was subjected to enhanced techniques that there was a revelation that we wouldn’t have had,” he said, “but it is very hard to prove the negative on this.”

Jones argued that a recent report that terrorist mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed provided information after being water boarded dozens of times is counter-balanced by KSM’s testimony to the International Committee of the Red Cross that some of those times he provided false information.

“He himself admitted that in order to get them to stop doing it, he lied,” Jones said, “and he is smart enough to play out the lie a little bit. I just think it comes down to our laws and our values and we are what we say we are or we are not and I think we are on the way back to being what we say we are.”

      • Flo, you ignorant left wing knucklehead !!!! I hope you still feel that way when Obama is through cleaning all our clocks. Haven’t you figured out yet he SAYS one thing and DOES another???

      • Hey Florence, Obama has ran the deficit up to a point that my grandchildren and my children are going to have to pay for his, for lack of a better work, reckless use of authority and power. Bail out, Stimulus. Nobody bailed my family out when my husband lost his job of 24 years (1 year left unti he was eligible to retire if he wanted to do so). Do you know what he did when he lost his job? He was out the next day… put his boots on and got a job to provide for his family. We didn’t take advantage of the welfare system or any other governmental assistance because that is what we, as Americans, should do. As far as the “budget surplus”, the last time I checked, the US Government is a “NOT FOR PROFIT ORGANIZATION”. Why would there be any type of Surplus? If there is any type of surplus, it should be given back to the TAXPAYERS of this country! Just keep making excuses for this administration and denying the fact that if this doesn’t stop, you will wake up one day… and it will be too late! You are living with blinders on and until you wake up and smell the marxism… I wish I could be at the Tea Party in Washington but I will watch and I will pray… better days are coming.

      • You must inform yourself and be objective. Obama’s record to date is an abysmal ideological failure. The obvious agenda is perpetual democratic control, which is why he is willing to be a one-term president to get his nefarious agenda implemented. There is no risk to him if he has his elite power group in power. Being from Venezuela, I can see the obvious plays in his mirroing of Chavez’s strategies. Read up and study and make an informed comment, history does repeat itself. Control of major industries- media, manufacturing (auto), healthcare, education, environmental by creating a “bogus” crisis which has been disproved overseas by a myriad of scientists, labor, education, did I leave any area out which he has not tapped to control? Does this not make it obvious that the point is TOTAL control of every aspect of everybody’s lives. A dependent subservient people who moan and plead for everything from the government.

This did not become the greatest nation in the world because we had great bureacrats.

        Please. Get real.

      • Florence! Simple Question. Name one thing that Obama has done for this country in his first 7 months. Be specific now! No generalizations or name calling. Just simply name one thing he has done that is helpful! Name one positive contribution that Obama made as a US Senator? Hmmm! Kind of gives you pause, doesn’t it? Bush was certainly not perfect and his budget deficit was WAY to large; but Obama has quadrupled Bush’s deficit in the first 4 months of office. My God; what will he do in 48 months if not stopped. One more question Florence. Do you even pay taxes? Do you contribute to the community now or are you just a taker. Did you vote for Obama because of his vision for the country (can you even articulate his campaign vision) or was it just because he was black? Just asking?

      • Wow, Flo, you really don’t have a life, do you?

You can reference a “surplus” all you want, but the reality of that surplus is that Social Security was never calculated into that surplus – kind of like running up a balance on your Mastercard then transferring the balance to a Visa and pretending the Visa doesn’t exist. It’s a lie.

But I’m sure you know that and you’re just being disingenuous not stupid, right?

      • Well the Bammster has done at least one good thing. He has unified us who love and respect America and what it stands for. He has gotten scores of people who didn’t give a damn to start waking up. I do agree with you that during the last administration spending was out of control. May I remind you that the House and Senate were under Democrat control for the last 6 of the 8 years W Bush was president. You probably didn’t know that – HOW OBAMA GOT ELECTED. People are waking up, to the Federal Resereve, the IRS, Social Security ect. My family have been fighting against these un-constitutional entites since the 70’s. Now I can talk to people (some at least) about the gold standard and fiat money and their eyes don’t just glaze over.

Also this surplus that you speak of… that’s why Social Security, Medicare, Medicade, ect. were all working fine, right? As long as there is the IRS and the FED anything that government says about $ or balanced budgets is a lie. Demo-can or Repli-cat, period.

Do you understand how an economy of a country functions? You need to read a book called “The Federal Reserve and our manipulated dollar” by Martin A Larson. It was first printed in 1975. I own the updated and revised version printed in 81′.

And if you truly believe the Bammster is good for this country and doesn’t lie thru his teeth constantly you should be very concerned about the health care issue because you must have severe brain damage!

    • Well said.

    • I am with you all the way

    • Please get back to me AS SOON AS POSSIBLE Me and my friends and family are getting together today for the march on washington in ft lauderdale. BJT I can’t find what time the event is scheduled for in ft. lauderdale. FL please help.

  2. Dear Flo, you do not understand the direction that Obama is taking us, for you never lived under Communism. Well I have lived under Communism and my father and mother risked their lives to escape to come here to give us a better life. You would not like it one bit. People had no hope, but to leave. If it happens here, where will you go Flo? There is no place let on earth that has the freedoms that you are taking advantage right now. All I saying is that you can’t recognize it coming, if you’ve never lived it. Why do people leave( and risk their lives) coming from Cuba, Venezvela, Russia , Iran, and China? They have nothing good to say about their goverment. I’ve always believed that you don’t realize what you have until you lose it. This has been coming, for awhile, only Obama has speeded things up, because he knows he only has 3 1/2 yrs left. Wake up and take a look who surrounds him in office. Look at his advisors, the’re all Communist and extremist. I hoped that our first black President would have been for the people and not for his radical agenda. Wake up and look at the entire picture. I think the reason you defend him is because you, too, are disappointed in the direction he is taking this country, and you are in denial.

  3. Darien Crow wrote in this Blog:

You want to blame George for everything, and he deserves his fair share of the blame, but I will tell you this… my best years in my entire life began in 2002 and lasted until Democrats took over congress in 2006. From then on it’s been a downhill slide to hell.

Very Well Put. Vote Those Bums Out !!

See You in Washington on 9-12.

    • Thank you! You are exactly right. When the idiots took over, that is when OUR life starting faltering. I always ask myself “Am I better off now than I was 4 years ago” and the answer is a resounding NOOOOOOO!

  4. i love my country and I’m not a socialist, or a communist, or a hater like all of you!

stop listening to your handler’s insanity and learn the facts for yourself. your leaders are trying to drum up anger among you because things aren’t going well. i saw the tea party piece on HLN today and the reporter said ” it’s hard to fathom how they (you) are so upset with President Obama.”

you’re misinformed. and to those of you who know your rhetoric is BS, you should be ashamed!

    • It’s not about Obama you pinhead,it’s about out of control Government period.!

      • it must have been the obscene and hateful obama signs and tee shirts i saw your cohorts wearing and carrying that made the reporter make that statement. go figure!

        • there flo gose “im not a hater you are i love my country you dont
yorr the fools im not ” same old leftest crap say one thing but mean another when confronted lash out WAY TO GO FLO

          • Dave, You watch, you see and you listen what they saty closely and it all becomes clear. This is the exact response that they will give just as Beck has said. You present them with the facts and they can’t respond against them. You tell them you wont be slienced and they will crumble under the truth. Thus, they are like cockroaches being exposed to light! Yes it may be true that Flo may not be a true communist yet…..that comes later. But there is no denying that Flo is a progressive through and through. A constitution hater, a bitter old shrew.

          • I saw the HLN spot on your tea bag express and it happened just as Flo said. The signs were horrific and the reporter couldn’t understand what the fuse is all about. Just as Flo stated

What a bunch of bag suckers the two of you are. I never see you Earl confront men. Does calling the women names make you feel like a big man? You’re infatuated by Beck and he’s sucking you dry! But you love, don’t you?

    • Flo, when was the last time anyone trusted the media.

    • No, Flo, you should be ashamed. You and the rest of the liberal left are far too consumed with spouting your rhetoric. I ask you to please look at the Resumes of the “Czars” that Obama has on the payroll. Study them. Flo, you cannot deny the facts. These people wrote their own Resumes. Nobody made up the information. Research. Google them… and you will find out what they are all about. I want a free country for everyone. Just do your homework and take your blinders off and don’t be ashamed to admit that you were wrong. We are all human.

    • Flo, you just do not get it do you. We have no reason to be ashamed for we have done nothing wrong. Speaking our beliefs is a Constitutional right that we have here in America…that is for now we do. The only problem is when people speak out against this President they are called Unamerican, terrorist or other horrible names by the media (which is so biased I can’t stand to turn on my tv). I am not angry my friend…I am in shock that so many “informed” Americans, such as yourself, don’t see what is happening to our country.

You quoted a reporter above…quote some facts! Several people asked you to give specifics about what good President Obama has done in his first seven months in office….you haven’t given us one thing. You my friend are misinformed…it is not rhetoric that we speak…it is the truth. Read a world history book…listen to those who have lived elsewhere…quit being so closed-minded that you can’t see what is right in front of your face. You will be the one who is left in shock, head held down in shame when you no longer have the freedoms that you take so lightly.

BTW…I don’t have a handler…I think for myself. Unlike a lot of liberals…go watch the video…I Pledge on youtube. I am not a servant to Barack Obama….are you?

  5. Flo Must watch CNN. She must be one of the ones who thinks its ok for the “hateful things” they say about Sarah Palin, Now thats hateful and so sad for people to talk about the womans famliy. I will be at the Tea Party 8/31/09, this is about our freedom, WE WANT AMERICA BACK. The only people getting jobs is the goverment “czars” The unemployment numbers they giving us is bogus, its actually alot higher than they are telling us. Now is the time WE THE PEOPLE take this country back.

    • One thing we should all do is hit the liberal media where in counts, in their wallets. All of us who care about this country, our children’s and our future should boycott all liberal media. Not only the news broadcast but all programming. When the rating’s start to fall so will their profits. Perhaps the leaders of 912dc.org could begin the process on this web-site.

  6. I agree MIMI. I bet Flo watches SNL too!

  7. Why does the Tea Party Express scream about saving billions but fully support the spending of trillions in Afghanistan and Iraq. Not only that, but they push for newer wars as well.

PS They are also a “support Israel at all costs” group. Now how can a PAC claiming to support the US Constitution claim that?
    Tea Party Express’s PAC site:
    http://www.ourcountrydeservesbetter.com

    • Sandra,
no one is pushing for new wars. No war would be great. But there are evil people out there bent on our conversion or destruction. And there is no shame in a PAC. It takes money to fight ACORN and others.
We SHOULD support Israel at all costs. They are our only REAL ally in the middle east. We need at least one friend over there. Please study your world history and foreign policy a little more before making comments on this post. There are actually smart Americans here that voted based on research, principles and truth; not simple minded rhetoric like “Hope and Change”. Give us a break.

  8. If we, the conservatives don’t stand up for our Country, the liberal lefties are going to take it away. If Obama has his way, we’ll all be controlled and watched by his “civilian milita group”. I agree with Glenn Beck? What the heck does he need a civilian militia group for???? Who’s the villain here, anyway???

  9. As Glenn Beck says this isn’t about political parties, this is about the CHANGE taking place in Washington – where Czars of socialist, maxist, revolutionary mentalities, all contrary to the principles our Country was founded on are being, are being established each and every day. It is about the majority of our elected officials, who happen to have a extreme leftist slant and a presidency that happens to be held by a person who selects Czars who have, in the recent past, proclaimed their dislike, disgust with our democracy. These people have taken control of our government and since Jan 20, 2009 have attempted to take control of the lives of private citizens. They have made public a National Health Care plan that has not been written yet, that the President swears will not impede the individual’s right of choice yet will make the National Exchange Plan so enticing our employers can and will automatically enroll us. It is about Cap and Trade…yet another Government law that will assign yet more regulation that will drive more high paying jobs offshore and tax us based on the hype that somehow the U.S. can negate all of the pollutants 3rd World developing countries are pumping into the atmosphere each and every day. I lived in a 3rd world developing country…the smog is so darned think that people wear protection over their mouths and noses when they are outside. Do you really think the U.S. alone can counter what India, Mexico, China and other countries are doing? The answer is a resounding ‘NO!’.
Personally, I do not want a government ‘Green Auditor’ telling me if my home is sellable. I do not want to invest thousands of dollars into green improvements that may return $500 over time. I do not want a government ‘Health Auditor’ telling me whether my lifestyle or age qualifies me for immediate health care or quality health care or health care period. I do not want the government to tell me when to exercise or what to eat. I do not want the government telling me I have to pay for illegal aliens – in my opinion the biggest threat to our economy and in time our security. I do not want to pay additional taxes the government will squander away….I work hard for my money and by gosh, goodness and God I believe I have a right to decide how some of that money is spent.
So Flo, people are angry because we’ve been rode hard since our jobs started to leave, since the government forgot to audit financial institutions that took us for one hellofaride that broke our economy, diminished our 401Ks and left a significant number of citizens on unemployment insurance. Something is wrong here…terrribly wrong….we have a right to question….people have a right to express their feelings. Perhaps some of the signs were in bad taste but how much worse than Pelosi, Reid, Watson and others calling the American citizens in Town Hall meetings, attending Tea Parties etc “Mobsters, Evil-Mongers, Brown Shirts’ etc. The elected officials name-calling is a betrayal of the constituencies who voted them into office, who pay their salaries, and who entrusted the welfare of their State and this Nation in their hands. They swore to protect our democracy NOT their personal agendas and personal beliefs as to what this NATION should be. What this Nation should be was already defined by our founding fathers, fought for and delivered by the blood and lives of those great and brave people who have defended for the past 200+ years.
Blind Faith Flo is not in itself a good thing.

  10. when are you coing to erie pa @ is there any groups from erie going to dc

  11. I believe most folk’s that agree with present Govt. are rich or already get handout’s. I see the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave being trampled into submission by a govt. that has it’s own agenda, that doesn’t care about WE THE PEOPLE. We hired these people, we pay them and this is what we get. What sane person really want’s war, seeing their own children dying on the field’s of battle, and by the way, it isn’t we the people, conservative or not, that start war’s, it’s the Govt. so what part of that do some of you not understand? What an ignorant comment to say anyone would actually enjoy being at war so to speak. The war’s recently fought are about politic’s and oil, that’s why Obama is tolerating what Iran is doing. He stood by as a President of a country that believe’s, at this time to some extent in recent day’s, freedom of speech, as the Iranian people protested a false election being harmed by police, etc. I think many are ashamed they voted for a man without listening to his prattle, so still defend him in spite of the ill will this admin. seem’s to b e bringing to our country. Czar’s right and left, hand picked by Obama himself, communist’s, freedom of speech destroyer’s, etc. These people my fellow American’s answer to no one but Obama himself, doesn’t any of this tell any of you anything that continue to give him the benefit of the doubt? I’ve tried, but I just can’t. No I did not vote for him because I studied Karl Marx in school and I understood what I was hearing from out of his mouth.

  12. flo is a socialist

  13. the teapartyexpress site is down need details for the dallas event.

  14. At seventy seven years of age I would volenteer for service in afganastan to get this country back, and
make this tea party a BIG success!!!!!!!!!!!

  15. Just to dispel a common misunderstanding, Obama is not the first black president of this country he is the first black and white president of this country who maximizes the black and minimizes the white for his own personal agenda. He is in fact a mulatto. And to defuse the racist rhetoric which will obviously be forthcoming as a result of that statement of fact. I would look forward to the candidacy and enthusiastically vote for Thomas Sowell for President in a heartbeat. There is a solid American.

  16. The current thing the American public has to watch are not the words that the person has to say, but the credibility of the person saying them.

Why is the administration in such a hurry to pass a bill on medical care…that was trying to be jammed through Congress before the August break…that isn’t even slated to take effect until 2013? If this is going to be so beneficial for the American public…why wait for it to take effect until AFTER THE NEXT Presidential election? If it’s not urgent legislation, why aren’t the legislators given the time to go through the traditional process and have Congressional hearings on the pros and cons as well as public opinion?

Why does it take over 1000 pages of legislation to insure people who lack medical insurance? Why don’t the investigate WHY so many don’t have medical insurance and see if it is because they can’t afford it or they CHOOSE not to have it? There are plenty of people who opt out of carrying insurance, which is their right, because they prefer to spend their money on other things. Young think they’re indestructible, old have Medicare, poor have Medicaid…so what’s all this urgency?

The politicians who have managed to read through the proposed bill have found all kinds of bait and switch tactics in play. Most of these have NOTHING to do with insuring the uninsured. Instead these legislators are taking away OUR individual FREEDOMS…by taking away the decisions between doctor and patients and putting those decisions in the hands of the bureaucrats. I for one do NOT wish to have some politician making judgements for MY medical care or influencing MY doctor as to what could, should or would be done.

This is just ONE example of how our FREEDOM is being taken away. This has been happening gradually as a result of politicians over the years, only the present administration is on a much faster track.

Another prime example is Eric Holder, the Attorney General for the United States, challenging the tactics the CIA uses to PROTECT THE SAFETY OF AMERICAN CITIZENS from TERRORISTS. Me thinks he needs to go back to school and study history. The annointed politicians keep pushing for legals actions against CIA personnel in regard to their treatment of terrorists and constantly quote about “upholding the law.”

EXCUSE ME! I was pretty good in history…and as far back as I can remember, the Constitution of the United States, as well as the Geneva Convention DOES NOT GIVE ANY RIGHTS TO TERRORISTS TO OPERATE OUTSIDE OF THE LAW! Rights come from explicit laws…NOT people trying to be politically correct.

IF one does not meet the requirements and terms of the Geneva Convention, they should not be afforded it’s rights. The Geneva Convention should NOT protect you. IF you are NOT an AMERICAN Citizen, then the rules and rights that govern an American Citizen (primarily the Constitution) DON’T APPLY!

All of these White House “Czars”…what’s up with that? All that’s happening here is the circumvention of the Constitution and the American public. You’ve got Rham Emanuel’s brother, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, health care advisor who complains of Americans’ “over-utilization” of medical care. Then there’s Professor Cass Sunstein, who wrote a book on how “third parties”should use government power to “nudge” people into making better decisions in general. Are these “third parties” destined to be what some are referring to as the “death panels?”

Czars don’t have to be confirmed through the Senate. Cabinet members do. Who are these people??? No one has a chance to find out before it’s too late.

Betraying a country you took an oath to protect, in my opinion is immoral. We need to Stand up America and stop all of this before it’s too late.

Share Print CommentsWASHINGTON — A former top official for Voice of America was indicted Friday on corruption charges, accused of taking thousands of dollars in concert and sports tickets in exchange for favors to disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

Horace Cooper, who is also a one-time aide to former Republican House Majority Leader Dick Armey, is accused of defrauding the government after getting choice seats to see ‘N Sync, the Dixie Chicks, and Bruce Springsteen, among others.

The indictment charges Cooper agreed to use his position at Voice of America – and his subsequent job at the Labor Department – to advance the interests of Abramoff and his clients.

Abramoff was sentenced in September 2008 to four years in prison on charges of mail fraud, conspiracy and tax evasion. Since pleading guilty in 2006, the once-powerful lobbyist has cooperated with the federal investigation of influence-peddling in Washington.

The long-running corruption probe has led to the convictions of one former congressman – Republican Bob Ney of Ohio – and 16 others, including lobbyists, Bush administration officials, congressional staffers and businessmen.

Prosecutors say that between 2002 and 2004, Cooper received thousands of dollars worth of free meals or drinks at Abramoff’s restaurant, as well as a free Super Bowl party for him and about 25 friends.

The five-count indictment charges Cooper also took thousands of dollars worth of free entertainment, including tickets to professional baseball, hockey, basketball, and tennis events, as well as concert tickets.

Officials say Cooper did not report the gifts on government paperwork.

Cooper’s lawyer, Solomon Wisenberg, denied the charges.

“We are very disappointed that the Department of Justice has decided to go forward with these charges,” the lawyer said. “Horace Cooper is innocent and we look forward to our day in court.”

Cooper, 44, worked as chief of staff at Voice of America in 2002, before taking the same position at the Department of Labor’s Employment Standards Administration, where he worked until 2005.

In both positions, prosecutors charge, he used his official position to advance the private interests of the lobbyist Abramoff and his clients.

The indictment charges Cooper agreed to help Abramoff secure VOA funding for the lobbyist’s newly formed television production business, and assist an Abramoff client, a Mariana Islands garment manufacturer, with an investigation they were facing by the U.S. Department of Labor.

He is due in court next month on charges of fraudulent concealment, false statements, and one count of obstruction of an official proceeding. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted of the most serious charge

  18. So, there’s this thing going around the internet…some people say that Glenn Beck raped and murdered a girl in 1990. I’m not saying that it’s not possible, I’m simply saying there are questions to be answered. After all, why else would so many people say that Glenn Beck raped and murdered a girl in 1990?

It’s all over Google, yet Glenn Beck remains silent and Fox News and the rest of the MSM is in blackout mode on this,

Presi8dent Bush did not send in union thugs to try to shut people down who disagreed with him as Obama has tried to do with those who disagree with Obama care, which is not care at all but just AGAIN, trying to control people and this country! 22. http://www.cbc.ca/world/story/2009/09/10/f…ealth-care.html

    by Neil Macdonald, CBC News.

Sarah Palin is off working on her memoirs somewhere, so she wasn’t in the audience Wednesday to hear President Barack Obama call her a liar.

Palin is the most prominent politician to have promoted the idea that Obama wants to create some sort of Third Reich-style medical bureaucracy that would decide whether the disabled and the elderly deserve to live, or just have their health care terminated.

“Death panels,” Palin called them, in one of the most calculated, incendiary falsehoods of the entire health-care debate. It embarrassed even some of her fellow right wingers.

But it served its purpose, scaring the living daylights out of older voters and churning up so much anxiety over the summer that Obama was forced to address it in his speech to Congress this week.

The death panels rumour, said Obama, “would be laughable if it weren’t so cynical and irresponsible. It is a lie, plain and simple.”

In the same speech, though, Obama cited a few uniquely American anecdotes not too far from just the sort of thing Palin and her cohort are predicting:

    * An Illinois man whose health insurance was cut off in the middle of chemotherapy because an enterprising researcher at the insurance company discovered he hadn’t reported gallstones he didn’t even know he had. With his treatment cut off, he proceeded to die.
    * A Texas woman who was about to undergo a double mastectomy when her health insurer cut her off, citing an unreported case of acne earlier in her life. By the time she got the decision reversed, said Obama, her breast cancer had more than doubled in size.

These are common stories here, reported in the media just about every day.

    * The Los Angeles woman with lupus, fluid in the heart and pancreatic cancer who was cut off health coverage because of unreported earlier back pain (which she says isn’t even true).

And of course, it doesn’t have to be true. Or even remotely related to your illness. It just has to be in your doctor’s notes, or hinted at in your doctor’s notes, even if your doctor didn’t tell you about it.

The moment the insurance company finds it, bang! Your treatment is cut off. And the insurers really start looking for excuses once you get sick and start submitting costly claims (one insurer, Health Net, has actually admitted paying bonuses to employees who dig up reasons to maroon sick clients).

If your treatment is life-preserving, like chemotherapy, and you can’t find some other way to pay, you die.

The industry term for cancelling a policy on some sort of technical grounds is “rescission,” and it is probably the most odious practice of an industry known for some pretty predatory behaviour.

Now, imagine for a moment what the reaction would be if federal or state governments started directing public servants to comb medical histories for the slightest excuse to cut off life-saving care. (It’s not well understood abroad, and sometimes not very well understood here, but the American government is already in the health-insurance business, big time. Medicare pays health-care bills for senior citizens, and Medicaid, the state-run programs, pay to treat the indigent).

The answer is obvious. It would be called what it is: Brutal, near-criminal, disgusting, inhuman behaviour. Maybe even death panels. And it wouldn’t last long once the public found out.

The curious thing is, when private companies do it, companies whose profit motive is diametrically opposed to the well-being of their clients, the American public remains relatively supine.

This sort of thing has been going on here for years, and while the horror stories are denounced regularly by liberal activists and routinely retailed by Democrats in stump speeches, it seems to be regarded by the public at large as just business. As in: “Well, they do have shareholders to answer to.”

In the minds of many here, business is good for America, and whatever business has to do to make money is good for America, too.

Certainly you don’t hear much about health insurance rescission from Sarah Palin, or Senator Jim DeMint, or the Christian conservative leaders who are now mobilizing against Obama’s plan. They have various motives. Palin wants to be president. The evangelicals believe Obama’s plan will lead to publicly financed abortion. Others, like DeMint, have stated flatly they simply want Obama to fail.

But where great swathes of the public are concerned, the antipathy to publicly funded medicine is something else. Clearly, a lot of people here fear any plan run by their own government more than that of the most venal insurance company.

It’s partly the innate distrust of government itself among conservative Americans, and it’s partly the widespread American self-image as a nation of rugged individualists who scorn public handouts, as delusional as that may be (see earlier reference to Medicare and Medicaid, not to mention the ocean of public subsidies that flow from Washington).

Obama himself has been talking about a woman who sent him a letter containing a stern admonition: “‘I don’t want government-run health care. I don’t want you meddling in the private marketplace. And keep your hands off my Medicare.’”

“True story,” says Obama, when he tells it.

And sort of pathetic, given the stakes of what’s going on here.

The fact is, there is so little understanding of what really exists here now and what is actually being proposed that for Palin and her cohort, working against Obama’s plan amounts to picking low-hanging fruit.

After Obama’s speech, the Washington Post quoted a middle-aged woman sitting in the waiting room of a local hospital.

The speech, she said, sent her blood pressure up: “For every story he tells about somebody that doesn’t have insurance, there’s one you can tell about somebody who wouldn’t get treatment because the government wouldn’t allow it.”

Well, as somebody who lived for 40 years in a country that has one of the most strictly public health systems in the world, I know all about the shortcomings of government-funded medicine. But in all those years, I never saw anything like what the insurance companies here are capable of.

To borrow one of Palin’s attack phrases: “Downright evil.”

    • 29 years ago my mother was diagnosed with a brain tumor. A few weeks after being diagnosed her insurance company dropped her from the plan because her bills were too costly. Thier reason was she reached the “cost limit”. In other words, the rich money hungry CEO’s of the insurance company cancelled her because her medical care was cutting into their profits. My father never gave up. An honest loyal American that paid his premiums his entire life sold everything to get my mother care. As she lay dying in the house, auctions were held on the lawn to raise money to save my mother. They sold everything. They traveled to FLA. and TX. for treatments which my father had to pay for with cash. She died 10 months later after a 2 month coma. I do blame the insurance companies for denying my mother the proper care she deserved as an American. I do believe all Americans have a right to good health care and that should not be decided by CEO’s that are out to make a profit for themselves. They are not in business to help the economy, they only want to fill thier pockets. Their greed has cost the lives of far too many good Americans. I agree that we need to stop Insurance companies from dropping people from their plan and not discriminate due to pre-existing conditions. Here’s my question. When someone gets a serious illness, how do we keep them from simply raising premiums sky high so you can’t afford it and you drop the policy yourself. Remember the insurance companies are in business to make a profit not save lives. Auto insurance companies raise rates everytime you get an accident or ticket. Without a public option out there…how do we get the insurance companies to lower their rates and not raise premiums when one gets ill? This is America, health care should be a right. We all should not be one catastrophic illness away from losing everthing.

  24. The O’Garbage Factor
    Fox News isn’t just bad. It’s un-American.
    By Jacob Weisberg | NEWSWEEK

    Published Oct 17, 2009

From the magazine issue dated Oct 26, 2009

Last week, when White House Communications Director Anita Dunn charged the Fox News Channel with right-wing bias, Fox responded the way it always does. It denied the accusation with a straight face while proceeding to confirm it with its coverage.

Consider Fox’s Web story on the episode. It quotes five people. Two of them work for Fox. All of them assert that administration officials are either wrong in substance or politically foolish to criticize the network. No one is cited supporting Dunn’s criticisms or saying that it could make sense for Obama to challenge the network’s power. It’s a textbook example of a biased journalism. (Click here to follow Jacob Weisberg.)

If you were watching Fox News Channel, you saw the familiar roster of platinum pundettes and anchor androids reciting the same soundbites: this was Obama’s version of Nixon’s enemies list, the rest of the news media is in Obama’s corner, Obama should get back to governing, and so on. On The O’Reilly Factor, Alan Colmes, the network’s weak, battered house liberal, mumbled semi-agreement while “Doctor” Monica Crowley and Bill O’Reilly lit up the scoreboard with these talking points.

Any news organization that took its responsibilities seriously would take pains to cover presidential criticism fairly. It would regard doing so as itself a test of integrity. At Fox, by contrast, complaints of unfairness prompt only hoots of derision and demands for “evidence” that, when presented, is brushed off and ignored.

There is no need to get bogged down in this phony debate, which itself constitutes an abuse of the fair-mindedness of the rest of the media. One glance at Fox’s Web site or five minutes’ random viewing of the channel at any hour of the day demonstrates its all-pervasive slant. The lefty documentary Outfoxed spent a lot of time mustering evidence that Fox managers order reporters to take the Republican side. But after 13 years under Roger Ailes, Fox employees skew news right as instinctively as fish swim.

Rather than in any way maturing, Fox has in recent months become more boisterous and demagogic. Fox sponsored as much as it covered the anti-Obama “tea parties” this summer. Its “fact checking” about the president’s health-care proposal is provided by Karl Rove. And weepy Glenn Beck has begun to exhibit a Strangelovean concern about government invading our bloodstream by vaccinating people for swine flu. With this misinformation campaign, Fox stands to become the first network to actively try to kill its viewers.

That Rupert Murdoch may tilt the news rightward more for commercial than ideological reasons is beside the point. What matters is the way that Fox’s model has invaded the bloodstream of the American media. By showing that ideologically distorted news can drive ratings, Ailes has provoked his rivals at CNN and MSNBC to develop a variety of populist and ideological takes on the news. In this way, Fox hasn’t just corrupted its own coverage. Its example has made all of cable news unpleasant and unreliable.

What’s most distinctive about the American press is not its freedom but its century-old tradition of independence—that it serves the public interest rather than those of parties, persuasions, or pressure groups. Media independence is a 20th-century innovation that has never fully taken root in many other countries that do have a free press. The Australian-British-continental model of politicized media that Murdoch has applied at Fox is un-American, so much so that he has little choice but go on denying what he’s doing as he does it. For Murdoch, Ailes, and company, “fair and balanced” is a necessary lie. To admit that their coverage is slanted by design would violate the American understanding of the media’s role in democracy and our idea of what constitutes fair play. But it’s a demonstrable deceit that no longer deserves equal time.

Whether the White House engages with Fox is a tactical political question. Whether we journalists continue to do so is an ethical one. By appearing on Fox, reporters validate its propaganda values and help to undermine the role of legitimate news organizations. Respectable journalists—I’m talking to you, Mara Liasson—should stop appearing on its programs. A boycott would make Ailes too happy, so let’s try just ignoring Fox, shall we? And no, I don’t want to come on The O’Reilly Factor to discuss it.

  25. Yes, let us follow Glenn Beck into Hell. Palin is already there, with her whore daughter!!!!
