We got some great media attention today on the March on Washington. CNN and The New York Times provided fair coverage of our event next weekend. Check it out.

A demonstration against government spending and “socialized health care” planned for Sept. 12 in Washington could become “the largest gathering of fiscal conservatives ever,” organizers said on Thursday.
Among the sponsors of the march is FreedomWorks, a conservative advocacy group that was instrumental in fueling opposition to a health care overhaul at town hall-style meetings this summer. The National Taxpayers Union and the Tea Party Patriots are also major sponsors.
The groups began building momentum earlier this year with opposition to President Obama’s $787 billion stimulus plan and bank bailouts. Over the summer, their opposition to big government spending found an outlet at the health-care town halls.
Matt Kibbe, president of FreedomWorks, said that the groups had started planning the protest and obtaining permits last February, realizing that Congress would be returning to Washington this month and taking up major legislation, including health care.

Starting Thursday September 10, the day after President Obama delivers an address on health care reform to a joint session of Congress, thousands of opponents of his proposal are slated to swarm congressional offices. The push marks the kickoff of the annual three-day March on Washington organized by former Rep. Dick Armey’s FreedomWorks organization. Given its critics’ show of strength, predicts FreedomWorks president Matt Kibbe, the latest Democratic health care legislation will be “dead on arrival.”
The first two days of the event are slated to include workshops on fundraising, “grassroots on the ground” and Web activism. But the centerpiece of the agenda Thursday and Friday are congressional visits: Participants will be given lobbying guidance before being directed to head to the Hill for planned, and unplanned, meetings with legislators — particularly those who support, or are considering support for, President Obama’s health care plan. An overwhelming number of the new attendees, and speakers at the weekend’s events, are expected to come from the ranks of the Tea Party Patriots, as the group’s “Tea Party Express” tour ends in the nation’s capital.
Planners say they aren’t looking to re-create a town hall atmosphere on Capitol Hill – but admit the prospect is likely. “There’ll be some chaos, there’ll be some yelling,” concedes coordinator Brendan Steinhauser; some individuals visiting House Speaker Nancy Pelosi might call her an “evil-monger.” But FreedomWorks, which has consistently denied charges it helped organize deliberate disruptions of congressional town halls this summer, continues to claim a hands-off approach, insisting that any aggressive activity won’t be directed by them, and that they will be asking participants to take a civil approach. “We do our best to guide (those headed to the Hill),” said Steinhauser Wednesday, a week before the event. “But they’re individuals. There’s no guarantees.”

I’m sorry, but did anyone else hear crickets while Ed was yammering? Ed gets 500,000 to watch his show each night while he’s up against Shep Smith and Dobbs. O’Reilly, Hannity, Greta and Beck get anywhere from 2 million to 3.0 million each night. We know who’s watching. But the scary thing is there are 307 million people in this country. What are the rest doing?
I can not wait until the 12th. I am so excited to be surrounded by freedom loving Americans on the Mall in Washington DC, looking up at our Capitol. I don’t care if there are 250,000 people there or 1 million people in our crowd. I could care less. Because I know what I feel in my heart is real. I know I believe in something. And I can not wait to scream it at the top of my lungs that I love my country and support our troops and support the Constitution and Declaration of Independence.
I am so tired of the handouts and the bailouts to solve this country’s problems. We need real solutions. People solutions, not money solutions. This ideology that somehow government is the answer to life’s problems has got to be rebuked and debated. We have got to win this argument, because it has been demonstrated time and time again that government is NOT the answer.

This is the first step in shining the light on the most heinous abuse of human rights of all time. Making people believe they need the government for their very existence & sucking the incentive from any individual to be the best he or she can be, it is the epitome of human rights abuse in my eyes. Its brainwashing in its most basic form. Why isn’t anyone with a microphone or platform screaming this from the highest mountain?
I too, am looking forward to 9-12. I have never protested a single thing in my life, but this one is too important. If anyone is still undecided, please join us. If not in person then on your knees in prayer.
Thank God there are normal people in this world. God Bless America! Stop this administration before it is too late. I will be on my knees in praying for our country and for all those attending on 9-12.

All of you are SAVING MY SANITY! Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am not alone, screaming at my television set! My husband is going but I cannot. My spirit and prayers are with all of you. I religiously write a letter every WEEK to my two senators and my representative.
With the current plan to indoctrinate our school children with the politics of how terrific our President is and how he wants to “save” you and your family from illness and greed, this march on Washington couldn’t come at a better time. Below is a parable that will knock your socks off (many may have not seen it yet and I cannot take credit for it):
Once upon a time, I was invited to the White House for a private dinner with the President. I am a respected businessman, with a factory that produces memory chips for computers and portable electronics. There was some talk that my industry was being scrutinized by the administration, but I paid it no mind. I live in a free country. There’s nothing that the government can do to me if I’ve broken no laws. My wealth was earned honestly, and an invitation to dinner with an American President is an honor.
I checked my coat, was greeted by the Chief of Staff, and joined the President in a yellow dining room. We sat across from each other at a table draped in white linen. The Great Seal was embossed on the china. Uniformed staff served our dinner.
The meal was served, and I was startled when my waiter suddenly reached out, plucked a dinner roll off my plate, and began nibbling it as he walked back to the kitchen.
“Sorry about that”, said the President. “Andrew is very hungry”.
“I don’t appreciate…”, I began, but as I looked into the calm brown eyes across from me, I felt immediately guilty and petty. It was just a dinner roll. “Of course”, I concluded, and reached for my glass. Before I could, however, another waiter reached forward, took the glass away and swallowed the wine in a single gulp.
“And his brother Eric is very thirsty”, said the President.
I didn’t say anything. The President is testing my compassion, I thought. I will play along. I don’t want to seem unkind.
My plate was whisked away before I had tasted a bite. “Eric’s children are also quite hungry”.
With a lurch, I crashed to the floor. My chair had been pulled out from under me. I stood, brushing myself off angrily, and watched as it was carried from the room.
“And their grandmother can’t stand for long”.
I excused myself, smiling outwardly, but inside feeling like a fool. Obviously I had been invited to the White House to be sport for some game. I reached for my coat, to find that it had been taken. I turned back to the President.
“Their grandfather doesn’t like the cold”.
I wanted to shout – that was my coat! But again, I looked at the placid smiling face of my host and decided I was being a poor sport. I spread my hands helplessly and chuckled. Then I felt my hip pocket and realized my wallet was gone. I excused myself and walked to a phone on an elegant side table. I learned shortly that my credit cards had been maxed out, my bank accounts emptied, my retirement and equity portfolios had vanished, and my wife had been thrown out of our home. Apparently, the waiters and their families were moving in. The President hadn’t moved or spoken as I learned all this, but finally I lowered the phone into its cradle and turned to face him.
“Andrew’s whole family has made bad financial decisions. They haven’t planned for retirement, and they need a house. They recently defaulted on a sub-prime mortgage. I told them they could have your home. They need it more than you do”.
My hands were shaking. I felt faint. I stumbled back to the table and knelt on the floor. The President cheerfully cut his meat, ate his steak and drank his wine. I lowered my eyes and stared at the small grey circles on the tablecloth that were water drops.
“By the way”, he added, “I have just signed an Executive Order nationalizing your factories. I’m firing you as head of your business. I’ll be operating the firm now for the benefit of all mankind. There’s a whole bunch of Erics and Andrews out there and they can’t come to you for jobs groveling like beggars”.
I looked up. The President dropped his spoon into the empty ramekin which had been his Creme Brulee. He drained the last drops of his wine. As the table was cleared, he lit a cigarette and leaned back in his chair. He stared at me. I clung to the edge of the table as if were a ledge and I were a man hanging over an abyss. I thought of the years behind me, of the life I had lived. The life I had earned with a lifetime of work, risk and struggle. Why was I punished? How had I allowed it to be taken? What game had I played and lost? I looked across the table and noticed with some surprise that there was no game board between us.
What had I done wrong?
As if answering the unspoken thought, the President suddenly cocked his head, locked his cold, empty eyes to mine, and bared his teeth, chuckling wryly as he folded his overconfident hands.
“You should have stopped me at the dinner roll”, he said.
End of parable.
We MUST stop this down spiral, friends! The dinner roll is already gone. We may be at the “goodbye, chair” stage already, or worse!

Talk to any political organizer and they’ll tell you the hardest part about pulling off a successful protest rally is building a big enough crowd for the press to show up and cover the festivities. As tax day approaches, conservatives planning anti-Obama “tea party” demonstrations across the country have found a way around this once-daunting organizer’s dilemma: Fox News.
That’s right. Despite repeatedly claiming its coverage is “fair and balanced,” despite its attacks on anyone who dares claim or imply the cable outlet tilts to the right, despite encouraging viewers to “say ‘no’ to biased media,” Fox News has frequently aired segments imploring its audience to get involved with tea-party protests across the country — protests the “news” network has described as mainly a response to President Obama’s economic policies.
Organizers of these tea-party protests have no bigger cheerleader (or crowd-builder, for that matter) than Fox News, which has provided attendance and organizing information for the events on air and online dozens of times. You name it, they’ve likely done it. Fox has offered viewers and readers such vital organizing information as protest dates and locations and addresses of websites where people can learn more. It has even posted information and publicity material for the events on its own website. Tea-party planners are now using the planned attendance of Fox News hosts to promote their protests and listing Fox News contributors as “Tea Party Sponsor[s]” on their website.
You see, Fox News hosts Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Neil Cavuto, and Greta Van Susteren are all scheduled to broadcast live from tea parties in different cities across the country, and they’ve wasted little time in diligently working to boost attendance levels for the April 15 events.
On his Fox program, Hannity has told his viewers, “And don’t forget, you can log on to our website to get all the details one week from tomorrow, our special, ‘Tax Day Tea Party’ show. You can attend. It’s live. It’s in Atlanta.” Cavuto struck the same note, telling his audience, “By the way, this tea party movement that’s going against largesse, it is growing. And folks are fed up with out-of-control spending. To that end, we are going to be broadcasting live from one of the biggest of these rallies on April 15, Tax Day. We are at California’s state capitol in Sacramento. This is the epicenter of this tax revolt beast, if you will.” Buried under the fault line of this “epicenter”? Cavuto’s integrity.
For his part, Beck, Fox’s conspiracy-theorist-in-chief, managed to escape his “doom room” — Beck’s words — where he regularly hosts survivalist fringe characters prophesying our impending demise as a nation, long enough to encourage his viewers to come “[c]elebrate with Fox News” at any of four “FNC Tax Day Tea Parties.”
It’s sounding more and more like a nerdy third-grader begging classmates to show up for his birthday party: “Come on, guys! There’s gonna be pizza and a clown — you’ve gotta come!”
In all seriousness, it’s one thing for a news outlet to cover a political protest — that’s pretty logical. It’s quite another for a news outlet to repeatedly encourage its viewers to attend a political protest. Far from practicing legitimate journalism, it’s blatantly and unabashedly political.
Beck isn’t just helping with turnout. Discussing his participation in the upcoming protest at the Alamo in San Antonio on his syndicated radio program, Beck announced, “I’m going to do a fundraiser for them” to help defray costs. “So you can come and you can have lunch with me. … I don’t know any of the details, but I’ve heard it’s like $500 a plate or something like that.” I’m guessing they won’t be serving pizza with a price tag clocking in at 500 bones per ticket. The clown, on the other hand? I’m told Beck makes amazing balloon animals.
At this point, Fox News might as well retire its worn-out “we report, you decide” slogan in favor of something more accurate and timely. Perhaps “we incite, then report; rinse and repeat” would do the trick.
Taking all of this into consideration, it’s logical for people to be upset over the horrible state of affairs at Fox these days. Some might even be inclined to blame Beck, Hannity, and the rest of their right-wing broadcasting colleagues, but they should resist such temptation. You see, it really isn’t their fault at all.
They are simply fulfilling the charge of their boss, Fox News senior vice president Bill Shine, who, in an interview last month with National Public Radio, described the conservative cable network as “the voice of opposition on some issues.” Indeed.
At least someone’s finally being honest at Fox. Now, if that’s not a reason to party, I don’t know what is.

How about holding the rest of the media to the same standard? Most of the media are so obviously left-biased that Americans are searching for opposing viewpoints and that’s why Fox is so popular. Why does the publicly funded media (NPR) consistently bias against conservatives? Waste of our tax money since the people that pay for that service are the capitalists that it attacks. Free press is a joke!

The shows on Fox news “promoting ” the rallies on 912 are the “opinion” journalists, but it would take some knowledge of journalism, indeed, to discern that fact. The news coverage is quite factual and rather fair and balanced, as advertised. The opinion journalists are just that ~ paid to voice opinion.
If you are looking to see what Michele Obama is wearing on vacation, tune in NBC. If you want to know where your tax dollars are being squandered, FOX os your best bet.

Does Fox lean to right? Yes, thank God we have one news station that cares about the direction of our country. But you’re right, they report facts. And while they usually voice their opinions, they show proof of what they’re reporting and I get to decide. As far as them voicing their opinions; their comments usually show us how intelligent they are!!! They are logical, and logic is something liberals lack. They think we can go on and on with give away programs and the taxpayers will never run out of money!! They are in desperate need of common-sense.
We’re not organizers, QP. We are businessmen and women, tree-cutters, plumbers, clerks, accountants, salespersons, butchers, bakers, candlestick makers–we all have one commonality. We are all patriots willing to stand up for what we believe.
If you want to know about organizing, ask your Annointed One. He’s the expert organizer. That’s all he knows. I don’t like him, trust him, or agree with him on anything, and I don’t care if he’s pink with purple polka dots. I may be color-blind but am not a sheep that follows the one that promises the moon.

I also hope it will be that easy. History shows it rarely is. Statists have much to lose. They will fight with everything they have. My wife wanted to bring a sign and a video camera. We are not spring chickens, and I told her we had to ‘pack light’. She chose the video camera over the sign. There will be THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of video cameras and cell phones that can take short movies. There will be people uploading via wi-fi directly to youtube in almost live time. Conservative patriots don’t wake up very often, but when we do, we plan ahead!
If the Liberals want to see something positive coming from this……here ya go: All of these protesters will be ’stimulating the economy’ by spending money for plane tickets, bus tickets, gas, food, hotel rooms, etc, to show that we won’t be silent any more. My wife and I are familiar with the DC area, so will stay in the outer reaches, drive to the closest metro, and pop out at the NAVY/ARCHIVES METRO stop. I am 55 years old, and other than going to one local rally a couple weeks ago, we have never protested anything in our lives, but plan on continuing in the future.

I am not a member of any organization including this one, that being said, I will be attending the DC rally to march for the freedoms of everyone. I think that everyone here is entitled to thier opinion and along with that they are entitled to do what they wish with thier lives free from the restrictions of tyrannical government. Our government has gotten so far away from what powers were granted to it by the constitution that now it may become a “right” for a person recieve healthcare paid for by someone else.?? How is it reasonable to interpret the constitution as saying i have a right to make someone else pay for my medical needs? On the flip side, I would think that everyone, no matter what the ideology, would appreciate the idea of taking care of ones self and family without the interference of any beaurocracy .. When did we as a people decide that we have the moral obligation to steal ever increasing sums of income from one person and give it to another? You do realize that if you had less interference from the federal government ,as the constitution had intended, that you would actually have more control over your own life? You then could do these things at the state or local level where once again, you the individual citizen would have more of a say so, and could always vote with your feet if it came down to it. As it stands now, very few of us actually had the ability to vote for (or against) pelosi, reid, frank, and rangel, yet they (and others) have total charge over more and more of our lives and we have less and less liberty. How do these few have so much say over so many who never had the chance to vote against them? Ist that the very definition of taxation without representation?

Here’s my list of protest subjects: Limited government. Free speech. Freedom of the press. A reasonable, free-market approach to addressing our health care system. Could you please tell me exactly which of these points is racist to you? Do blacks want a totalitarian government, rather than freedom? Do blacks have less interest in preserving a quality health care system than whites?

I find it hilarious that the Lefties continue use Medicare and Unemployment insurance as “government run programs they continue to use despite their stance against government run programs”. Medicare and Unemployment benefits may be government run but these benefits have been EARNED by these people. They put into Medicare for years to be able to collect on it in their old age. This isn’t a free handout! They INVESTED in these programs. Unemployment insurance is paid by their employers! These are NOT handouts. Welfare, Medicaid, mortgage bailouts, cash for clunklers…THOSE are handouts…that We the taxpayers pay for. Not the ones who utilize these programs. You can find it funny that the older people don’t equate Medicare with a government run program. They don’t see it as such. It’s not a handout, they’ve earned it!

This recession was caused by the combination of reduced Fannie/Freddie lending standards and the Fed’s low interest rates. The first was caused by democrats (Bush proposed legislation to reign it in), the second by Greenspan who was neither appointed by or answered to Bush.

Share Print CommentsWASHINGTON — A former top official for Voice of America was indicted Friday on corruption charges, accused of taking thousands of dollars in concert and sports tickets in exchange for favors to disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff.
Horace Cooper, who is also a one-time aide to former Republican House Majority Leader Dick Armey, is accused of defrauding the government after getting choice seats to see ‘N Sync, the Dixie Chicks, and Bruce Springsteen, among others.
The indictment charges Cooper agreed to use his position at Voice of America – and his subsequent job at the Labor Department – to advance the interests of Abramoff and his clients.
Abramoff was sentenced in September 2008 to four years in prison on charges of mail fraud, conspiracy and tax evasion. Since pleading guilty in 2006, the once-powerful lobbyist has cooperated with the federal investigation of influence-peddling in Washington.
The long-running corruption probe has led to the convictions of one former congressman – Republican Bob Ney of Ohio – and 16 others, including lobbyists, Bush administration officials, congressional staffers and businessmen.
Prosecutors say that between 2002 and 2004, Cooper received thousands of dollars worth of free meals or drinks at Abramoff’s restaurant, as well as a free Super Bowl party for him and about 25 friends.
The five-count indictment charges Cooper also took thousands of dollars worth of free entertainment, including tickets to professional baseball, hockey, basketball, and tennis events, as well as concert tickets.
Officials say Cooper did not report the gifts on government paperwork.
Cooper’s lawyer, Solomon Wisenberg, denied the charges.
“We are very disappointed that the Department of Justice has decided to go forward with these charges,” the lawyer said. “Horace Cooper is innocent and we look forward to our day in court.”
Cooper, 44, worked as chief of staff at Voice of America in 2002, before taking the same position at the Department of Labor’s Employment Standards Administration, where he worked until 2005.
In both positions, prosecutors charge, he used his official position to advance the private interests of the lobbyist Abramoff and his clients.
The indictment charges Cooper agreed to help Abramoff secure VOA funding for the lobbyist’s newly formed television production business, and assist an Abramoff client, a Mariana Islands garment manufacturer, with an investigation they were facing by the U.S. Department of Labor.

I will not be able to attend in person, but I also will be on my knees praying for those who are standing up for the freedom that your Founding Fathers so bravely fought for. I’ll be there at the March and know that there are many more who wish they could be. Each of us will be representing other who feel the same way and care enough about freedom to demand we don’t concede it to anyone else. For those who cannot attend, we feel your support. I left CT at around 2PM on my motorcycle! Got hammered with rain so hard and too cold, I had to turn back!
Very sad that I could not make it, but I’m going to hang signs and flags on my bike and ride around CT, for support!

Obviously this artricle was written BEFORE the march. I went on CNN.com and there is almost nothing there about the march on Saturday that had an estimated 1.5 to 2 MILLION (as reported by Times online and other non-American media outlests who WEREN’T spinning the coverage).
This event and the totally fabricated media coverage and spin has basically PROVEN that the US Mainstream Media is nothing but a governent Propaganda machine.
While many Americans are awakening to the reality that we all share the same basic desires, the media is busy pretending that the majority of Americans fit neatly into opposing Left and Right groups. The Left wing pundits need the Right wing pundits but all WE need is each other.
The Revolution may not be televised but our numbers are growing. If we can awaken the rest of the American public out of their media-spun trance, we will become too large for the media to ignore any longer.
Joe Wilson just let slip out what millions of Americans are feeling. The rest better start representing us or soon we will tar and feather them all!
