USA Today covers the March on DC again
Today’s edition of USA Today has an article covering the March on Washington. Here is an excerpt:
Tea Party Patriots are storming the Potomac.The conservative activists who staged taxpayer tea parties last spring and packed town-hall-style meetings to rail against “Obama care” this summer plan to march here Saturday to protest what they call out-of-control government spending.
Encouraged by conservative commentators such as Fox’s Glenn Beck and organized virtually on Twitter, Facebook and other social networking sites, the march will constitute “the largest gathering of fiscal conservatives ever,” says Adam Brandon of FreedomWorks. The advocacy group led by former House majority leader Dick Armey is planning the event, although other organizers say theirs is an unprompted movement.
I have to say that the mainstream media has covered this protest even better than some of the conservative blogosphere. As you know, we’ve recently gotten mentions in CNN, The New York Times and The Washington Times. Thanks to everyone for continuing to spread the word. We are only a few days away, and the momentum is continuing to build!
I can’t wait to answer president Obama’s address to Congress with an address of our own this weekend.

Thank you for your posts. I guess I needed a good laugh today. Please let us know what educational institutions made you the man that you are today, so that we can close them down. You may be the most uninformed moron that has posted here yet, and that is saying a lot.
Obama is a centrist? He is able to “understand” both commies and tea-party people???

Thanks for all the compliments. If I offended you by equating tea party people with commies, as far as their extreemism, I apologize. It’s just that I once worked with several people who were memebers of The Revolutionary Communist Party, and their rhetoric was almost identicle to tea-baggers. It seemed to me that if you go far enough to the right and far enough to the left, the two extreems will meet in a circle.
Did you read all of my posts? I enjoyed doing them; it was kind of like an anonymous debate, and I actually did look up most of the stuff I wrote. I appreciated all of the responses. But, you’re right, I am uninformed, and I’m still not clear exactly what the tea-party people want. I’d like it if you or someone could tell me maybe the top 4 or 5 things Tea Party Patriots don’t like about the Obama administration, or what they would like to see done differently.
At any rate, it’s nice to know I’m your friend.

I agree with many of you posting on this site that this March is organized by racist. If you look into the background of some of the main people organizing and promoting it like FreedomWorks, there is KKK type affiliations. And more than that, the people responding (and some are my Georgia relatives) are holding racist signs at the Marches. And many of the AOL bloggers that are backing this March are actually using the N word in their comments. It is disgusting! The reason that we the Majority of American citizens think this is a racist movement is because you are acting racist. To bad you are so racist that you don’t even see it.
Robert Byrd (D) was a member of the KKK does that mean all democrates are Racists? Don’t be an idiot. This is 2009 not 1969. I doubt many of these people are really racists… May be a few but the actions of a few do not mean the rest of us are. Remeber Obama is half white too. Race has NOTHING to do with my reasons not to like him. I don’t like Pelosi either does that make me a sexist? Since I am a woman I think not… You libs need to come up with something better than to demonize a group than by calling us all racsist. Grow up and stop the name calling.

I appreciate your comments Mart, but I respectfully disagree. The vast majority of the “tea party” movement is based upon the idea that when government becomes too large and basically unresponsive the the very people that elected that government, it is tyranny. Indeed, “natural liberty” was defined by Blackstone as: “being a right inherent in us by birth, and one of the gifts of God to man at his creation,when he endued him with the faculty of free will.” Washington (among so many other American patriots) knew this precept to be true: that God governs the affairs of men, not a government.
While I am certain you can point to isolated (and perhaps racist) comments that are neither helpful to our cause, or of benefit to the truth – that all men are created equal: you, I and everyone else on this good earth – we must all, for the greater good, give those comments no weight or authority, and understand that those views have nothing to do with the vast majority of us who simply want a government that is accountable to our needs, one that will not tax and spend us into the next millennium and beyond. If you are like minded to those principles, then we would love to have you join us, and I for one, as well as my brothers and sisters, don’t care what color your skin is.

Start with the Constitution, the 5000 year leap….there are many others. We will be happy to give you the list. After you have spent the weeks that we have in becoming educated and informed on our government, THEN and only then, can you make any comments. The racist thing is old……doesn’t work anymore. Get back to us when you grow up and become informed. By the way, that march was GREAT!!! Over 2.1 million, according to the park service in dc. The largest ever and we were polite, kept the area clean……we should all be very proud of ourselves today. Let’s keep it up…..tick tock…..Nov 2010, Congress!!

How can the White House make a statement they were not aware of any Tea Party in Washington.Of course they are trying to deny anything happend on 9-12.This Tea Party dwarfs anything Obama had in Minneapolis .And to all you people, a statement of they were unaware this was going on…Gee I have alot of confidence with the security of our Country.
I was at the Tea Party in D.C. Saturday. I couldn’t been prouder of the men, women and children of this great Country of Ours. We will take our country back and rid this nation of the corrupt politicians and any body else that stands in our way. I was amazed after the crowd left that the trash was in trash barrels were it belonged and not on the ground. The race card is played as a distraction from the real issues! Stay focused on securing our freedoms; big government is the problem.
March on The Media!
Obviously, the “main stream” media are hard of hearing and seeing. About 2 million mad-as-hell taxpayers assembling in Washington, D.C. for the largest-ever (most well-behaved ever, most respectful ever) protest did not make it onto their radar screens (or our TV screens).
They need our help. Maybe we cannot repeat an assembly of 2 million mad-as-hell taxpaying patriots in one place, but surely those who longed to go and couldn’t would love to be a part of Operation “Can You Hear Us Now?” I’ll bet for every one patriot who went to D.C. there are 10-20 more who wished they could have been there as well.
Well my friends, HAVE I GOT A PLAN FOR YOU…
It’s called, “Operation: Can You Hear Us Now?” Here’s how it might work, but feel free to improvise!
Step 1: Contact all your freedom-loving, American-loving, free-speech loving friends and get together to plan. Draw from your local Tea Party group or 9/12 group or other friends. Protest all things you did in D.C. – plus the complicit media!
Step 2: Identify local left-wing media outlets (most likely TV, since no one reads newspapers anymore).
Step 3: Plan a tea-party rally for October 17th, 2009. If you have enough folks, visit multiple sites concurrently, otherwise pick your least favorite, liberally biased outlet as ground zero. Time it for max participation for the working (i.e. tax-paying) class. Before the AM news or at the evening 6 o’clock hour might be good (local time).
Step 4: Use your 1st Amendment Right to Free Speech right outside their offices or broadcast locations. Make sure you are on public property, not private property. Bring your signs, banners, flags, and voices to the event. Protest big government, small minds in Congress, and liberal media atrocities in reporting (or non-reporting). (Watch for the Free Speech media to attempt to have you forcibly removed by law enforcement – so stay on public property!)
Step 5: Be peaceful, respectful, but let them HEAR you and SEE you. Remember, they are hard of hearing and their eyesight isn’t what it used to be the last 8 years prior. They accidentally missed 2 million people protesting in D.C. in one of the biggest protests in US History. Bring your video to upload clips to the internet later.
Step 6: Complete your tea party with a cup o’ tea before leaving the premises. Go home (remember to leave no litter behind – we’re not liberals).
Step 7: Turn on the TV and see if they saw you. If not, smile and remember that November 2010 is just several more Tea parties away!

What I love about most of the comments in these forums is that they are so obviously based watching the DopeTube 24/7. Yeah boy, a real reliable source of information. You can get your favorite flavor of two sets of facts and opinions, the leftist flavored facts or the rightist flavored facts.
Why don’t you turn off the TV, the mainstream and alternative media sources! Read a few books on history of economics and currency. Seriously study the history of politics in the US in the 20th century. Read some well documented books. You know, the ones that have extensive notes and bibliographies to back up their statements.
That is, if you really want the truth!!
Or flip on the DopeTube and pick you choice of drug. Liberal LSD or Conservative LSD. The TV is to the American people what vodka was to the Russians.
