  1. what is the plan? your site seems to indicate that we will travel to washington to SIT IN CLASSES? please email me with answers. if we spend so much of our own money for a trip to protest – that is exactly how we should spend our time – protesting! marching. knocking on their office doors on the hill. engaging them in conversation. signing their visitor books in their offices. we need to SWAMP the halls of the capitol and any other building open to the public. please say that is your plan.

    • I don’t know if anyone has responded to your question yet… but here is the best information I can share. I am feverishly involved in the planning from a grassroots organization, but because of our location in the Metro Washington Area we have been included in alot of discussions.

The actual March on Washington will take place on Saturday, September 12th. The location will be in downtown DC. and I believe the gathering place will be at Freedom Plaza which is located on Pennsylvania Ave. and 14th Street. From that location, the march will go up to the Capital. Speakers will be speaking from an area on the grounds of the Capital. (I am purposely being vague here as I don’t know the exact location, but there will be people guiding you.)

Prior to the March on Thursday September 10th there will be events (classes) that are designed help those who are registered to learn the proper way to lobby your legislators. There will be an opportunity for you to go to the “Hill” and lobby them.

Addtionally, On Friday September 11th there will be a memorial service and other events.

No one ever said that citizenship is easy. Sometimes being a good citizen can be inconvenient. We hope you will join us! Bring as many people as you are able to. Once near DC you may want to take the Metro into the city as parking can be a problem and can be expensive. On weekends, there is lots of parking at the Metro stops.

Hope you will all be joinin us!

    • Classes are crucial..many Americans though well intending haven’t the first clue about how to become a activist. WE have to do more than Tea Party…we have to teach Americans how to truly become watchdogs, activists, how to lead and educate people for a great outcome in 2010 and 2012 and beyond.

One thing we know for sure…knowledge is power! The American People need to learn to be empowered again.

      • Get Wes from Minnesota to those classes so he can bring some of that back here!
        Thank you
        We’re sending a bus tomorrow.
Those that can’t make D.C. we’re sending to the Target Center to Let President Obama hear our voices!

  2. the march to the hill on saturday???? why???? the offices are CLOSED on saturday!!!

  3. I said the same thing 2 months ago, but the answer was still we will be heard whether they are in their office or not. I am still excited, but think it would have been more effective had it been on a week da.

    • Many are arriving in DC to kick off events starting 9/10 with visits to our reps and senators offices that afternoon and some on Friday. Face to face meetings are very important and they will be aware we are all there…some will attend the event. Either way they will know and hear about the tens of thousands that attended the event!

  4. What is your reply to the above questions?

  5. Here it is a month from your big march, where is your agenda? Even if it is just a draft, where is it? Where does the march start and where are you marching to? The only thing I have seen is everyone to to gather on the mall west of the Capitol. This sounds more like a protest.

  6. How many marchers are we trying to get on Saturday? How many are currently registered? What about regular updates about progress?

Is someone working with Talk Radio and Fox News. I do not hear anything about our March.

My hope would be to get 1,000,000 citizens for the March. We have to slow down Congress and their rubber stamping BHO’s legislation. Is this a realistic goal?

With the outrage over the Healthcare Bill, I have to believe we could flood D. C. with Marchers.

  7. I do believe that the reason you have not seen or heard anything on Conservative radio or FOX is because we don’t want the liberals branding this as anything other than a grassroots protest. The organizers are “We the People”. If you need organized help you might join one of the sponsoring groups in your local area(their logo’s are on the left side near the top). Other than that, signing up for the Liberty Summit might be your first step. There is the Happy Hour at Bullfeathers that may prove to be a perfect starting point for Saturday’s March. People who are staying in your Hotel may also be sources of info.

My biggest concern at this point is whether we will be permitted to carry signs and/or flags. If someone has the details on that and any restrictions, we should know that upfront!

  9. I wondered about some of the same things asked here.

Now it makes a lot of sense, This is we the people coming out of the woodwork not an organized debacle of any particular vehicle that would help us lose credibility by the fascist media.

this is Americas uprsing and our only form of democracy at work. (sure beats violence)

I only hope we have a turn out of close to a million. Lets hope that not only has the giant been awakened but that he has a cup of coffee in him and is rearing to go!

I’m encouraging everyone i know to go.

I only want to know why our congress hates my children and grand children as much as they do? they do don’t they? Why else would they destroy the future of this country like they do?

National Day of Service and Remembrance

Please take a moment now to post your personal plan to perform a good deed, volunteer or engage in another charitable activity in observance of the newly established September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance. Help create a wonderful legacy that honors the victims and those who rose to service in response to the attacks on America.

guess cheney forgot to tell bush it was his job to set up a national day of remembrance.

  13. the organizer of your protest has a history of starting trouble:

“Brendan Steinhauser was the Washington, D.C. chapter leader of the right-wing protest group, Protest Warrior. He led the counter-protest against the anti-war movement’s mobilization on September 24, 2005. The group’s confrontational and provocative methods have caused incidents at numerous peace rallies. Steinhauser also led an “infiltration” of a peace rally in San Diego in March of 2005, and protests of Michael Moore in Crawford, Texas and San Diego, California. He brags about making short films of his provocative “infiltrations” and distributes them to other activists. ”

  14. Florence, thank you for that inspiring post about Brendan Steinhauser. Funny how the left reacts to having therir own tactics turned agianst them. I feel much better now, thank you!
