Community Organizing Ideas
Here are some resources for grassroots organizers who want to study the rich history of nonviolent political activism around the world. It is important that the tea party protest movement remains a peaceful demonstration against big government, and some of these resources below teach methods of nonviolent strategies and tactics that have worked in the past.
Our movement can learn a lot from previous movements where the people came together to oppose oppressive big government. Take some time to become a better community organizer. Check out these great resources!

We need everyone with the means to travel to be in DC on September 12th. We need to show the entire country, the entire news media, the world and most of all our fellow citizens in America that what we are doing means something to each and every one of us.
Deep down in our hearts we have a view of America. A romantic view of what this country once was like. Where people genuinely cared about what was best for the country as a whole, not what is best for personal reasons.

You can get really good deals on Travelocity. I got round trip airfare from Houston and 3 nights at the Hyatt Regency in Crystal City, VA (near Reagan Airport, about 5 miles from the march start site) for $480. I also got a car on Priceline for $114, but wish I hadn’t, because I found out that parking in DC is very expensive ($25/night at the hotel). Don’t get a rental car – take the public transportation.
The 9-12-09 event should be promoted as the “Mother of all Tea parties”. Anyone who has had enough of the Liberal nonsense should find a way to attend this protest. Every talk radio show, TV show or Internet site that promotes our agenda should make non stop announcements to promote attendance for this huge gathering of
Law abiding citizens that expect their politicians to do the same and follow the U.S Constituion.

We are all coming together for the cause against Government Control of the American People including; high taxes and taxes on everything, socialized health care, pretend global warming, and the Pretend Crisis the Government is drilling up to make us the American People rely on Big Government to help us. We will vote new people in 2010 and come together again in 2012 for a better way for the America People.
Is there a way to sign a petition online? I will not be able to attend the march in person, but I would like to add my name to those who are protesting what I believe are the most idiotic notions ever proposed by officials who swore to represent the people who elected them.
I oppose Cap and Trade, Healthcare (rather than tort) Reform, and allowing people who entered this country illegally to remain here. I want English to be the official language, welfare to be workfare, and the right to join a union if I CHOOSE to do so.
If there were a way to sign something like this online, and have the signed document carried by someone during the march, I would feel like I was showing my support even without my physical presence.

Right on, wish I could be there. Will be a having a small protest party at my coffee shop. Didn’t find any bus from Colorado, didn’t get plane tickets, now it’s prob too late and motel to stay in. It sounds like there is going to be lots of people there, from the list of buses going. I am faxing letters to Congress, esp the ones up for reelection, telling them to look out their window on 9/12.

You should tour through Miami, Fl and let all of the Cuban’s living there know what Congresswoman Diane Watson said about Fidel Castro. She said Castro is a very wonderful person. If that were true, why are all of the Cubans risking theur lives to come to the U.S. Obama wants this country to be just like Cuba.
