We are near Pittsburgh, so several of us will be traveling by car, and several have campers or even tents. Any information available about campgrounds nearby, even in Maryland?

I am planning to drive my clubcab pickup from Salina, Kansas and arrive in the Washington, DC area the evening of Thursday, 10 September 2009. I am bringing my ‘OLD GLORY’, flown upside down , with the KANSAS flag and DONT TREAD ON ME flag. I am also bringing my 10-month old husky / shiba / wolf, named ‘Sarah’, named after the Governor. The last time I was in the DC area, I was stationed at Fort Belvoir for EOBC in 1970 and remainer going into DC one weekend and walking into a cloud of teargas from The Mall. As a Vietnam Veteran (36th Engr BN (Const), Vinh Long), I have never seen The Wall.

This site is a bit confusing to me..and I am trying not to be a grumbler. There are several areas on here where people are conversing and sharing ideas. With that said..I think under the “About” pulldown..under “Event Coordinators” there is a conversation going on that might assist you. There is a Sharon Snyder from southeastern Michigan that is chartering a bus.

There is a Tea Party organization based in West Michigan (Grand Rapids area) that was considering chartering 4 buses. I was made aware of this when I attended the July 4 Tea Party at Riverside Park on Monroe Ave. Contact me if you want more info.
Maybe the leadership can arrange charter buses to get to DC
I am assuming you are from Indianapolis,IN? If so..you have a large group of supporters right in your backyard. We should not expect the leadership from these sites to get us there. The Indy Teaparty bus is sold out…bummer..I’m looking for a ride as well, preferring a bus with a group. Anyone know of one in the Indianapolis area? Thanks fellow Patriots!

Anyone interested in camping/rv’ing…check out Cherry Hill Park Campground in College Park Maryland…they have their own metro bus stop at front gate which will take you to DC.
Will be driving to DC. I’m hoping that we can get a chartered bus to DC anyone up for that?

Americans are supposed to be self reliant, surf a little find a friend with similar interests and drive your self. In todays internet world it is not to hard to figure things out make a reservation and go. The people arranging this event probably have enough on their plate without having to arrange everyone’s transportation and accommodations. I’m not trying to be mean but does everyone have to be spoon fed these days like a baby?

You would be surprised to know how many have never booked travel for themselves before. Yes we do have allot on our plate. As national coordinators were are the only ones offering such substantially discounted hotel rates and these people want to be with their friends and fellow patriots, not somewhere out in the boon-docks. We are a volunteer organization and will be happy to help all we can. I you can’t get through to us keep trying. Hundreds of calls an hour and thousands of e-mails. We will get back in touch with you as soon as we can.

Not surprising to me at all. There are people attending that never leave their home towns. It just shows us how passionate everyday folks are about defending their country and rights!!
Had a very very small taste of this organizing a group of church ladies a while back. After making all the travel arrangements… I then had to actually open their hotel room doors for them and get them settled in..wow..lol

You are either unaware or hiding knowledge of Acorn’s infiltration of the Tea party rallies. The difference between our infiltrators and yours is that the media “Lap-Dogs” will broadcast any fights occouring at our rallies and blame us even tho we might be defending ourselves. This is all I want as a result of the Tea Party.
Congress,
1) Pass a law that prohibits you from voting for your own raises. I did not
ask for you to possess such ridiculous authority. You work for me, not for
yourselves. How dare you give yourself a 11% raise when the American people
are in such a state of economic suffering. Then you have the audacity to
complain about corporate executives taking more than their fair share. How
dare you insult my intelligence and mock me while you fatten yourselves with
my hard earned dollars.
2) Repeal the law that authorizes you to not pay into the Social Security
system. Why do you think that you shouldn’t have to pay Social Security
payments. I’ve been paying for thirty years. Why do you think you should
get a free ride?
3) Make English the official language of America. Stop spending billions of
the American tax dollars on multi-language documents and services.
Americans are willing to learn and adapt. Immigrants who are unwilling can
go back to their own country.
4) Abolish the Electoral College. I never asked for this ludicrous scheme
you worked up to proxy my vote.
5) Remove all expense funds that don’t directly relate to your specific job
responsibilities. How dare you use my hard earned dollars to take
unnecessary trips, buy personal items, take your family on vacations. Have
you lost your mind. That is my money you’re spending.
6) Pay your own long-term health premiums. Stop with the free rides. You
are in a part-time job. I’m tired of paying for you what I must pay for
myself. Get your own health insurance, and experience for yourself the pain
I have.
7) Make it law that all American citizens serve the country for two years
after high school. Lots of choices here (e.g., community services, armed
forces). It brings people together and provides common expectations for
work ethic and moral baselines.
Establish a law that elected officials can only serve two terms. It will
reduce the risk of temptation to become corrupt and approve laws for self
interest. Do you think I’m a fool? The Alaskan Senator Ted Stevens is as
guilty as Madoff. The judicial system you created let him off on a
technicality. You make me sick. Ted Stevens was stealing from the Alaskan
people for years. He lost his morale compass and doesn’t even know it, or
he is a damn liar.
9) Bring back “In God We Trust” to every corner of America. This country
was founded on God and hard work. Keep it that way.
I want results, and I want them NOW. Next, I will be looking more closely
at all the other laws that give you preferential treatment. It’s time for
you to get off the “Gravy Train” and start working for me. It’s time for
you to get back to the basics and get the job done that you said you were
going to do. So you know, I am trying to find out which of you actually
read the stimulus package before you voted on it. When I do, I will be
sending you another letter. I don’t even know where to start with that.
How could anyone with a brain in their head vote on the largest economic
package ever without reading it? That is a complete avoidance of your
fiduciary responsibility. I should sue the congressmen for my money back.
My husband and I are driving all night on Friday from Ohio to make it there by Sat morning. Does anyone have an idea where we could park once we get into town? Thanks!
