  2. I am in Central Oklahoma and I would love to be there on 9-12-09. I hope we can get there if not I hope there are at least 500,000 people there.

    • Kathy,
Are you located near OKC? A group from OK “may” be organizing a trip to D. C. Let me know.

      • I am in Tulsa…..trying to help get info to folks to go to D.C. I am NOT an organizer for this event, however, I can help. call me 918-835-6260 if my phone recorder is on, please leave a message….
We MUST make this as big as Obama’s inauguration was…a sea of people as far as the eye can see….
Go to their doorstep…..Get in their face where they can see and hear us….
Do it for our children…..!!!!!! For those who died for this country…!!!
Be an AMERICAN and DO SOMETHING TO HELP SAVE OUR COUNTRY…!!!!!

        • Shirley, I am new to this and posted my comment already on the National Taxpayer Protest website. My name is Elizabeth Franklin. We live in Broken Arrow, OK and are interested in attending the 9/12/2009 protest in Washington D.C., but would like further information IE: will buses be available for transportation and if so at what cost? Very important we have this information ASAP in order to make our plans. We’re retired military (26) and would really like to join with this protest. Thanks.

          • Elizabeth, there’s a chartered bus going to DC from OKC. It MAY be full. We’ll know tonight or tomorrow. Contact Al Gerhart, Sooner Tea Party at al@thecarpentershop.net for details.

It would be a great idea to contact him tonight (9/2).

  3. There was great representation in E. Texas on 4/15. I was at the Longview tea party and we had about 2000 people there.

A bus trip from Longview maybe? Anyone organizing things like this elsewhere?

  4. Anyone planning on going from the Corpus Christi area? My husband and I would like to go.

  5. I cannot attend the rally on 9 -12, but my heart will be there. Is there anything meaningful that those of us who cannot be there do on the homefront to help show support for those who will be there and for our cause?

    • Very thoughtful! Maybe a donation to FreedomWorks, who is putting on the event; they are also trying to fund scholarships for those who can’t attend. Click on “Home” at the top of this page; donation button is at top right.

  6. Kathy Wilhelm or Shirley Ellis, could you please tell me if buses will be transporting from Tulsa, Broken Arrow, or OKC for 9/12/2009? My husband and I are interested in going but would like my details, cost, etc.

  7. Any chance of chartered buses going to DC from Central Texas?

  8. We made our reservations tonight and we are going! So excited. We staying at the Hyatt.

  9. Anybody goin from the Panhandle?

  10. I live in Midland, TX. and I am trying to find out if a group is going to Wahsington from the Midland, Odessa area.

  11. Not all of us can “do” the walk but there is a project started here in Texas for Sept. 8th, 2009. It’s being called “A-Wake”. I’d love to see the marchers wearing black arm bands to show their support. “A-Wake” is a visual way to send a message to our elected politicians. The premise is that we are in mourning for the demise of our country. We want these politicians to know that come re-election time, they are going to find themselves unemployed.. at least the ones who are cohorts of the current administration. Those of us who cannot (for various reasons) accompany the marchers to D.C. will certainly be at home rooting them on. We will be wearing black on the 8th, black clothing and/or arm bands. Placing black wreaths on our doors and draping black crepe on our fences and houses. Putting signs in our front yards that say things like, “R.I.P. U.S.A.”. Please support us and help get the word out.

    Thanks.

  12. If anyone hears of a bus leaving from Texas, please let me know. We would love to go.Thanks!

  13. Is anyone from the Ft Worth area planning on attending? I am thinking about flying up on Friday evening and coming back Saturday night.

  14. Jesus said to them, “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.” Matthew 22:15-22

    • Tax is where big government begins. It takes our money so they can run healthcare, auto, etc and then the people are forced to turn to the BIG government. Just a week or so ago a Florida man may be jailed for praying in public. Our freedoms are being taken away.

  15. here you go:

National Day of Service and Remembrance

Please take a moment now to post your personal plan to perform a good deed, volunteer or engage in another charitable activity in observance of the newly established September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance. Help create a wonderful legacy that honors the victims and those who rose to service in response to the attacks on America.

    http://911dayofservice.org/

guess cheney forgot to tell bush it was his job to set up a national day of remembrance.

    • “guess cheney forgot to tell bush it was his job to set up a national day of remembrance” . Yet Obama does not attend church, did not celebrate or promote our national day of prayer but did promote the muslim prayer day? So sad how you and your comments are. I will pray for you.

  16. the organizer of your protest has a history of starting trouble:

“Brendan Steinhauser was the Washington, D.C. chapter leader of the right-wing protest group, Protest Warrior. He led the counter-protest against the anti-war movement’s mobilization on September 24, 2005. The group’s confrontational and provocative methods have caused incidents at numerous peace rallies. Steinhauser also led an “infiltration” of a peace rally in San Diego in March of 2005, and protests of Michael Moore in Crawford, Texas and San Diego, California. He brags about making short films of his provocative “infiltrations” and distributes them to other activists. ”

  17. This is all I want as a result of the Tea Party.

    Congress,

    1) Pass a law that prohibits you from voting for your own raises. I did not
ask for you to possess such ridiculous authority. You work for me, not for
yourselves. How dare you give yourself a 11% raise when the American people
are in such a state of economic suffering. Then you have the audacity to
complain about corporate executives taking more than their fair share. How
dare you insult my intelligence and mock me while you fatten yourselves with
    my hard earned dollars.

    2) Repeal the law that authorizes you to not pay into the Social Security
system. Why do you think that you shouldn’t have to pay Social Security
payments. I’ve been paying for thirty years. Why do you think you should
    get a free ride?

    3) Make English the official language of America. Stop spending billions of
the American tax dollars on multi-language documents and services.
Americans are willing to learn and adapt. Immigrants who are unwilling can
go back to their own country.

    4) Abolish the Electoral College. I never asked for this ludicrous scheme
you worked up to proxy my vote.

    5) Remove all expense funds that don’t directly relate to your specific job
responsibilities. How dare you use my hard earned dollars to take
unnecessary trips, buy personal items, take your family on vacations. Have
you lost your mind. That is my money you’re spending.

    6) Pay your own long-term health premiums. Stop with the free rides. You
are in a part-time job. I’m tired of paying for you what I must pay for
myself. Get your own health insurance, and experience for yourself the pain
    I have.

    7) Make it law that all American citizens serve the country for two years
after high school. Lots of choices here (e.g., community services, armed
forces). It brings people together and provides common expectations for
    work ethic and moral baselines.

Establish a law that elected officials can only serve two terms. It will
reduce the risk of temptation to become corrupt and approve laws for self
interest. Do you think I’m a fool? The Alaskan Senator Ted Stevens is as
guilty as Madoff. The judicial system you created let him off on a
technicality. You make me sick. Ted Stevens was stealing from the Alaskan
people for years. He lost his morale compass and doesn’t even know it, or
    he is a damn liar.

    9) Bring back “In God We Trust” to every corner of America. This country
was founded on God and hard work. Keep it that way.

I want results, and I want them NOW. Next, I will be looking more closely
at all the other laws that give you preferential treatment. It’s time for
you to get off the “Gravy Train” and start working for me. It’s time for
you to get back to the basics and get the job done that you said you were
going to do. So you know, I am trying to find out which of you actually
read the stimulus package before you voted on it. When I do, I will be
sending you another letter. I don’t even know where to start with that.
How could anyone with a brain in their head vote on the largest economic
package ever without reading it? That is a complete avoidance of your
fiduciary responsibility. I should sue the congressmen for my money back.

  18. Hello. Great job, if I wasn’t so busy with my school work I read your total site. Thanks!
