The Tea Party Movement Goes to Capitol Hill

Remember 9/11 and Support the Troops at Walter Reed

The Event:
At 6:30 PM on 11 September, members of the DC Chapter of FreeRepublic, the DC Chapter of Protest Warrior, Gathering of Eagles, EagesUP, bloggers, and other patriotic Americans will join together for a rally at the Main Gate of Walter Reed Army Medical Center. The rally will end when the WRAMC bus returns from the weekly Friday night dinner trip, at approximately 9:30PM. Return time varies.

The Main Gate is located at 7200 Georgia Ave NW.

This rally began in March of 2005 and has been in continuous operation every Friday night since then, rain or shine, hot or cold.

The Opposition:
Members of the anti-military, far left group Code Pink, aided by SEIU, and other denizens of far left/marxist ideology have set up in the middle of the block at what used to be the pedestrian entrance to the base. Please refrain from engaging these “moonbats” as they can become violent and abusive when confronted with facts they cannot refute. They also don’t like to have their pictures taken or videoed.

Permitted Areas:
West Side of Georgia Ave:
Our permitted area extends 100 feet south down the sidewalk from the Main Gate on the west side of Georgia Ave. and north to the next corner.

East Side of Georgia Ave:
On the East side of Georgia Ave, the permitted area extends north to the corresponding west line, and south as far as needed. Please be advised that this is a residential area of Washington DC. Conduct yourself at all times in a manner you would want if this were happening in front of your house.

DCFreeRepublic will provide limited refreshments and will be asking for donations to continue their support of the wounded at Walter Reed. We would also like to encourage attendees to bring international phone cards, personal hygiene items, (shampoo, soap, deodorant, etc.) and socks, t-shirts, shorts, etc for donation to the Mologne House. Multiple sizes Med-XXLarge.

There is a slideshow presentation representing 3 years of this event here.
