The Tea Party Movement Goes to Capitol Hill

Take Action

Tell Congress how you feel about their wasteful government spending. Let lawmakers know how these big government budgets will personally impact you and your family. We will deliver your comments to lawmakers on a regular basis.

We need to overwhelm Congress to let them know where the majority of Americans stand when it comes to fiscal responsibility.

Congress needs to not forget the government is the people and they are only representatives!

Government needs to do what so many Americans are having to do---tighten up their belts and spend less. For too long Congress has been able to make decisions that benefit them personally.

Yes we need health care reform, but only if you do it right. First, it is not health care that is the problem, it is medical insurance. Health Care is a personal responsibility for your own health. Make good wholesome food more affordable than processed meals and we have a start. Contain our medical costs by focusing on cures and not maintenance through drugs, get the pharmaceutical companies out of being the driving force. Here is one solution for covering all those trips to the emergency room that are not covered and controlling the illegal aliens. When an illegal needs medical treatment, give them what they need, but then turn them over to INS and have them shipped back home.

Way to go everybody! It looks like it turned out to be quite a show of force! It was estimated between 1.5 and 2.1 million people were there. It is interesting how the liberally- biased main stream media puts the figure at " thousands" rather than millions, and gave the march hardly any coverage at all. They gave more coverage to Joe Wilson's comment at Obama's speech ( which was true, Obama did lie) than anything else.
Without specific ammendments to the bill, to specify illegal aliens would not get coverage; would be the equivalent of posting a 55mph speed limit and have no officers to enforce it - it would not be followed. Or another lie, with the option plan that people can keep their existing coverage. An 8% increase in payroll tax would force 2 out of 3 employers to drop healthcare coverage, forcing most employers to dump their employees into the government run -plan. The "public option plan" is nothing more than a trojan horse for a single payer system; the underlying motive behind this is control - to get as many people as dependant on the government as possible. Or how about the comment that the 9 billion will not add to the deficiet - the irrationality behind a comment like that does not even need an explanation!
But the one comment near the beginning of the speech that Obama needs to be held account to is that his " stimulus bill" ( let's call it by it's proper name , a "socilaistic redistributuon of wealth program") helped bring this country of the recession.
The recent recession was due largly to the collapse of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae; which in turn was caused by the Community Reinvestment Act of 1977( more intrusive liberal governmental regulation); a by - product of the Great Society programs of the 1960's - which was forcing banks and mortgage companies to lower their lending standards for unqualified buyers. The collapse of these two mortgage giants exacerbated a minor recession...The economy showed signs of recovery months before any of the " stimulus bill" money was even spent. To take credit for that is ridiculus.
I saw various Youtube coverages of the march; some of those signs were really funny... The polls and surveys show that majority of Americans are either happy with their health care, or don't want socialized medicine. Competiton and choice in the free market system produces better products, innovations, leading to more scientific breakthoughs. Government run health care does the exact opposite, and forces more dependance on the government. what part of "no" doesn't Obama and Congress understand.

I have to wonder if you are even reading these comments or just laughing behind our backs? As it seems, you are laughing behind our backs and making choices you have no right to make for us. What are you doing? Who do you think you are? You work for us; "the PEOPLE" or did you forget? NO SOCIALIST GARBAGE! WE ARE AMERICA AND WE ARE FREE!

I am appalled at the arrogance of The Administration. They must be sincere in their cause because they don't seem to be concerned about the public support behind their plans. I like how the president calls health care a moral issue... while committing a future generation to pay for it is not a moral issue?

The Federal government has grown far beyond its constitutional scope. It is time for the states to take back their powers and the Federal government to return its limited role in our nation. This administration has been particularly shocking in their treading on the Constitution of the United Staets.

I am not happynwiththe direction this Country nis headed. I am not happy with the direction this Country is headed. We are losing way too much of our freedom The spirit of what made this country great is slowly having the life suffocated out of it. It is great to see that many other people are feeling this same sense of purpose. It has been a long time coming- but a new party really needs to be born and the comfort zone of the 2 party system needs to be seriously challenged and changed. Let's work to save this country and continue to keep it the creative forward free country that made it great. I am a self employed independent creative person and come from a family of free thinkers who are self sufficient and hard working law abiding people. The reason this country has been so great is because creative independent people have room to to be their best because of "FREEDOM". I actually feel short of breath with how government is getting more and more involved in every aspect of our lives and how this ultimately will stifle the creative mind and stop progress for future generations. If we do not stop this direction now- this can be the end of a great era in History and this Country will not be the Country it once was and the Country that so many people fought with their lives for.
